There is also the fact savage has got progressively easier each expansion to clear and things more balanced compared to back then so there are higher clears then ever before. Of course it takes time for a new player to learn how ff14 raiding works but once they do its much easier to get into then it was in the past. All i was saying was things were more difficult back then which is true compared to how well balanced and easier things are now. As someone who has been playing for 10 years i seen how easy ff14 has become over time its not due to experience its the devs simplifying things so much nothing takes skill.
But how much of the difficulty back then came from lack of experience?

Things are always more difficult when we're learning than after we've "mastered" the lesson.

If developers have simplified things to the point of things not requiring skill, why do so many players still struggle with content (especially the new players)? They struggle because there is still difficulty to the content and they don't have the experience to have increased their skill. A player who's gone through the MSQ 1-90 without stopping to grind out side content like veteran players have had to do during the patch content waits is not going to have the experience of those that did.

The experienced player isn't going to feel the content is difficult because they've learned what to expect and can anticipate what is needed.

I think much of the veteran player base undersells itself when it comes to how much they have improved and learned about how to play the game. Is it truly difficulty that's lacking or innovation that would force you to learn new mechanic styles?

With massive hitboxes, wall bosses, and a very streamlined process of fights you no longer have to figure out uptime, boss placement, etcera. That's what we mean about figuring things out.
Then those things should be specified in the argument instead of just dismissing everything as lacking a need for skill.
