No idea, you'd have to pay me to try WoW. All I know is that Destiny 2 and Bungie are currently on fire, and the last thing SE needs right now is their house of cards to catch fire.
In short: It's a terrible idea.

I totally agree. The benefit of having one expansion announced rather than two or more is the ability to change the roadmap and promises made without raising an eyebrow or receiving a backlash from the community.
However, this thread is just a "What if" scenario and fun thought, or pondering. Not to be taken seriously at all because if SE did then that's quite a risky move![]()

Like to point out, with the WoW example, they haven't actually shown any details at all for 2 and 3, they just gave names. So the roadmap / features for those 2 is still very much changeable.I totally agree. As an elf fan, it's enough to know that one of my favourite areas in the game is going to be relevant again in the future. It's a smart move, especially given how varied personal tastes and desires for the future of any given game happen to be.

it should also be pointed out that Blizzard and future plans hold as much water as a sieve.
Overwatch 2 story mode? the only reason they announce things like that is to hype it up, get people excited.. and then pull the rug. it gives them giggles.
SE hates releasing details of the next whatever they are planning, period... two or three down the road... that would signal a huge change in their business model and at that point, I would not view it as a good thing.
Agree, but I also think there's no harm in looking to other places for inspiration and keeping an open mind.
There's a whole lot of good ideas out there that come from things we dislike.

That's the point. I loved Destiny 2, and if reports are to be believed, devs begged execs to allow them to implement changes the community kept asking for, but they say no.
Look at Bungie now.
It's the usual problem. People with gigantic egos in expensive suits making decisions on things they understand nothing about, it blows up in their faces and instead of getting rid of the incompetent management that caused the problem the people who actually made the product successful in the first place get fired.
Unfortunately it's nothing new.
