MMO's are essentially rewards driven, any content that provides no rewards is uninteresting for players, and the most rewarding thing you can get is Gear,
We were telling them since the frist criteon dungeon that the rewards are trash, but did they listen? not at all.

You are 100% correct. This is the core of the issue. I play FF14 because it is an MMO. Not for the story (though i do love the MSQ), not for island sanctuary, not for deep dungeons, I play it because it is an MMO. And EW has not improved the actual MMO elements of this game in EW.MMO's are essentially rewards driven

you need rewards to incentive people, if there was no gear and ilvl improvement in savage like in bahamut savage, then THAT would be horrible
