This is more the type of stuff I was looking for. What are the consequences of these changes. Are they changes that are worth it in the grand scheme of things? We know the pros of faster gearing, what are the cons?I foresee situations when applying to statics where you end up not playing the job you wanted to play because you were made to play as a different role because of how easy it is to swap. Or having to trial for multiple jobs.
Also, I currently look at my friends and view them as certain job mains. If anyone can easily gear any job, then that main job Individualism starts to become lost. I no longer view my Reaper friend as a Reaper main, I just view them as a guy that can play 7 jobs.
Additionally, if more people can gear multiple jobs, then it becomes more expected to have higher parses on multiple jobs and not just your main. This already happens to a certain extent, but it'd become much worse. Statics might require you to have logs on every melee instead of just your main. Also if more people are swapping jobs mid raid because gearing is faster, then you got more people relearning the fights but on different jobs which sets prog back cause your teammate wants to learn multiple roles.
Not saying these are good reasons, and definitely not saying these things will happen. But they are definitely environment changes I could expect to happen. There wouldn't be an excuse anymore for you to change your job to another job if it's optimal.
Some people may not take advantage of this at all even and might quit the game in 6 weeks instead of 8 because the gearing is faster. Just some small things to consider.
