I liked talking to them, yeah. Even if the casual nature of just going around with the Twelve was off-putting to me at first, getting to see the personalities of each was a big plus and one of the reasons I was invested. That was nice.
Everyone here may know I am a huge XI fan, but it is pretty odd how the biggest XI news in years wasn't from the actual FFXI game........lol......SE hates XI so much, they would rather give other games XI content than XI.
Anyway......It would be more intriguing if both games borrowed jobs and AF armor from one another. So XIV would get GEO, COR, etc, XI gets MCH, SGE, etc.
Not a raid guy; subbed to complete the story.
DEVOUR: Blue Mages Are What You Eat........

Preparing myself to transform into a giant bucket of piss when the gear drops aren't unlocked for all roles.

They could do AF armor as the first ally raid rewards for each job, then relic armor as second, then empyrean armor as the last. It would be more gear but every job would have its own set per ally raid. And they could have few other key sets like salvage or nyzul sets be lv1 glamours that drop in crates like they did with 2b set.
When it comes to ally raids for FFXI it deserves more then just the normal ally raids.

You commented on my XI LP a few weeks back, and I recognized the name from here.Everyone here may know I am a huge XI fan, but it is pretty odd how the biggest XI news in years wasn't from the actual FFXI game........lol......SE hates XI so much, they would rather give other games XI content than XI.

I agree.
Though it'd be pretty funny if the content XIV gets is just like, 3 24 mans of more Sortie lmao

It'd have to be either AF or Relic if they went that route as they're the same models just palette swaps. Salvage gear would be a good example of possible role-based gear but they already gave us one set back in ARR, the Wootz Mail set (along with the Wootz Cuirass which is the Koenig set). They'd also have to rename a bunch of them since they've already used a lot of the names of the AF and Relic gearsets along with their iLvl Reforged variants in here lol Getting the actual Empyrean gear models in would be lovely but it would also bother me to no end if all tanks got to share say one set of AF-based gear.

For at least one tier I'd like to see the Adaman Hauberk of Fending, the Igqira Weskit of Casting, the Dalmatica of Healing, Shura Togi of Striking, Crimson Scale Mail of Maiming, Hecatomb Harness of Scouting (yeah I know NIN was never able to wear that set but putting it there due to THF roots), and the Sha'ir Manteel of Aiming (sorry MCH this one's for BRD and DNC) I can see Abjuration gear models being put to good use for the raids or maybe even sets from Adoulin as a majority of that gear was frontier/wilderness themed which would fit nicely with Dawntrail's aesthetic
Not a XI player at all, have only really heard bits and pieces about the game in general. Very much hoping that we get something along the lines of the Ivalice alliance raids; as a non-Tactics/XII player, I honestly really enjoyed the story of that and how it felt pretty decently worked into XIV's world. It was much more "direct" in how it took stuff from Ivalice and put it into XIV's world compared to something like Crystal Tower and its FFIII references, but I didn't find it to be an issue. As much as is noticeable by someone unfamiliar with the source, Ivalice's raids felt like a great balance between "crossover that uses a lot of stuff directly" and "worked into the world of FFXIV without feeling jarring or unfitting."
...which is a lot of talking about Ivalice and not the upcoming XI raids, but I think a similar approach would be great.

Here are some examples of gear they could use.

I never understood that debate. It's clearly blue, but like everything else in XI, takes on purplish hues in the right weather/lighting in game.
