Are male Hrothgar ears animated? Not that it matters, mind you, as I agree. All the animal ears should be animated.

Now, if you excuse me, I am gonna take my Viera and go cry in a corner. :P

Unfortunately no they are not, though they do have rigging bones in them which if they have controls for the animator to use then it could be. Worse case situation it might be like Viera who also have rigging bones in their ears but I think the only animation they get is via environmental such as high winds blowing them or while running and walking with a bounce.

I think the only race that has moving ears during emotes is Miqo'te despite the fact that in all technically Viera and Hrothgar should have animated ears during emotes since rabbits and large cats use their ears to convey body language. I believe if you go back in this thread to the Reddit post about "Legs" you'll find quite a few people talking about this issue there as well.

But the blue one is a personal indulgence for me. I love the blue fur/white hair combo!

Hmmm... If you are wanting to keep it blue then maybe making the fur a light greyish blue might help. Looking at it a second time I think the issue is the color you use for the highlights on the armor is the same color for the fur highlights which in your picture is a large amount of the face which is probably why it looks very samey or blue blob like. this would allow you to keep the fur blue while giving it a deference from the armor. Just my two cents on the matter. You could try to darken the armor but the issue with that is you'll almost be making it black at that point which I don't think is what you are going for.

Y'know, I guess it makes sense they'd save the female Hrothgar for the JP FanFest so they don't take away the surprise of the very obviously a Hrothgal in the MSQ.

Welp looks like patterns win out and we'll have to wait another 2 1/2 months. Won't lie a bit disappointed but as I said was expecting it to be a possibility. So now we know for the next time they plan on a single race we'll have to wait till JP to see it.

On another note. I am a bit disappointed with no news, but it was to be expected. I just hope the wait will be worth it when they will inevitably be revealed at the JP fan fest in a few months.

Sorry for the double post, but I will just put it out there that I will not buy the expansion until we see the reveal for Female Hrothgar. I will not give them any money just so they can play coy about the thing we knew they would add for the betterment of 2 years.

The rest of the announcements were small, like we barely learned anything new, but we just had to spend f-ing 20 minutes on the stupid Lallafel chin, right? /sarcasm.

The only thing that was interesting was the Fall Guys trailer. Didn't get hyped for BLU 2.0 or the Viper (cool name, but seems boring, remains to be seen in gameplay). And the zones are okay, they look good, but we have already seen them looking more alive from the NA fan fest. For all the talk about the EU having more info, it seemed we got less news than the NA. Pretty let down on this one too. Everything was predictable.

Plus, maybe it'll help our overall chance a little better, as fellows with non-human ears: today at the fanfest there was quite a lot of talk about the technical capabilities, linked with graphical changes, and that finally there was not only a need, but also an opportunity to rework models that have retained certain qualities since 1.0!
As far as I know myself, Viera's ears also have bones that contribute to animation. It may be used in the future!

Only 2 and a half months away! It just came to mind in another thread, but what are the odds of Viper being a Turali Hrothgar combat art? I've got nothing to back this up, but it's a fun idea. Come JP fanfest, they might show both FemGar and whatever Hrothgar settlement we'll be visiting in Tural at the same time, and I've got a personal suspicion that Viper is related to them.

Unfortunately it's basically the pattern EU almost always gets. Big announcements not looking at EW and DT for EU has been the one job reveal, the 24-man raid theme, and Viera at ShB. outside of that it's mostly rehashing NA's with more details. Think the EU community basically has the "We get screwed" mentality when it comes to XIV be it either the Fanfest or even collaboration events like the "Eat Pizza" Emote. Feel bad for those over in the EU because of that.

Yeah really the Lalla chin explanation could of been part of the panel after the Keynote since they had the technical artist there who's team probably work with problem solving the issue that he talked about. I mean I find it interesting due to well I'm a technical artist as well but I agree that shouldn't of been such a huge point in the limited time for the keynote when it fits with another panel the same day just 30 mins after that.

As for announcements that I enjoyed, The job could be interesting but too little to go on, and the XI Raid sound like it can be interesting to me but that's because of my nostalgia for the game. But outside of that yeah I found the announcements kind of lacking and seemed like Yoshi-P was filling in random fluff to fit the time window, see aforementioned Lalla Chins or the unable to show island sanctuary replacement for examples.

I'm starting to think that we didn't see an announcement for Hrothgals today because much like the Island sanctuary replacement I'm assuming the team must of not been happy with what they have to show it to the public and wanting another two and a half months to work on it. I say this because there are tons of things that will more than likely get announced at the JP Fanfest so it wouldn't be for a lack of topics and I don't think it would of detracted that much from "Legs" reveal in the 6.55 patch if they were announced today instead of waiting a couple of weeks before the patch drop. The late Christmas present of Hrothgals I hope is going to be worth the wait.
