So would people be more upset if we make "Whats the point with that quite lackluster story in Dawntrail" or we just keep adding to this one?

Two different individuals already tried to pre-emptively create one, actually. One of them was deleted, the other is still around but didn't pick up traction.
I don't think there will be any major criticism towards Dawntrail. All signs point to it being a rather low stakes, sanitised affair. Endwalker is particularly controversial since it took many different story arcs built up over time and then tried to awkwardly conclude them all at once.
It's not a great situation for a game that actively brags about being 'story driven' but it is what it is.
Your concern is appreciated and I do think Venat looks a lot better in that particular gif.As you're SO fond of saying "You're free to not engage with posts that you don't like"
I just love Venat, and I thought that people who are angry might feel better if they see her as well. I didn't mean to make you angry, I apologize for that. But you're right, I'll switch it up
Though I do not get the impression that anyone posting in this thread is angry. It's simply a debate about a video game story, after all.
My curiosity remains, though - do you have anything to bring to the table that is relevant to the thread's premise? What aspects of Endwalker did you not enjoy or believe could have handled better?
I imagine they were just bait/shtposting. I meant it in a slightly serious way, once the expansion is out and done with. I'm not fond on leaving this subforum.
I'm still stuck around 6.4 and haven't done the last raid tier or the 24man, due mostly to lack of motivation.
I hope this weekend leaves me optimistic for the future.
I'd say this sub-forum is the best of the lot, in all honesty. So I don't blame you.I imagine they were just bait/shtposting. I meant it in a slightly serious way, once the expansion is out and done with. I'm not fond on leaving this subforum.

I'm mostly curious to see if every new zone is going to be in Tural or if they'll do another expansion split that takes place elsewhere. If they can capture the vibes of the Ys games in terms of exploring an unfamiliar region then it might just manage to retain my interest.
I'm curious about the new jobs at least and somewhat excited about the graphical update - especially if they finally fix the issue of Highlander men lacking authentic eyebrows.
I doubt I'll ever treat the game as anything other than a backup option, especially if its competitors dangle a more intriguing premise for their upcoming expansions. I've made my peace with the idea that MMO's are too unreliable to commit to on an exclusive basis. Even if the story isn't mishandled there's the issue of content droughts and friends burning out/taking their leave altogether.
To say nothing of the fact that non-MMO games often loom on the horizon. I'm looking forward to Dragon's Dogma 2, Tekken 8 and FFVIIR: Rebirth.
I honestly do hope you find a game you enjoy more, but if this game is still worth your sub money (which it currently is, you're here), then that's cool too.

There are a ton of things I didn't particularly like about Endwalker. But the reality is this thread is simply 800+ pages of "I like garlemald and ancients, I don't like Venat". The problem with that train of thought is SE doesn't care. Venat is good. Emet and company were tragic, but ultimately wrong in their actions. Why? Because the writers say so. I can write all the fan fiction I want about how it 'should' have gone, but that's all it is, fan fiction. At the end of the day you're playing in SE's sandbox, and I've come to grips with that, despite my dislike of a lot of their decisions.
Except for the part where a fair portion of the criticism is focused on how much of the story simply can't stand up to scrutiny, Venat being but a single part of that. A part that keeps getting talked about specifically because it represents one of the the most recent and flagrant symptoms of the writers relying so hard on feels to carry the story as to largely disregard reason and logic. Saying they didn't expect people to think so deeply about it is a copout. They're well aware this is a story-focused game first and foremost. They should fully expect its players to analyze the story up, down, left, right, and center.I honestly do hope you find a game you enjoy more, but if this game is still worth your sub money (which it currently is, you're here), then that's cool too.

I, and I think a lot of other people, don't care about Venat in the sense people seem to think. I don't really care about the ancients overly much either, although I did find their part in the story to be one of its highlights. I'd be lying if I said I give a damn about Emet-Selch outside of having found him a highly entertaining change of pace from the villains we usually see served up in fiction these days. What I do care about is things making sense. They at present do not. I'm quite confident I am far from the only person with this mindset.
As I've said before; you want me to think X thing about a character, location, event, object, etc., you show me that thing. You don't tell me that thing then show me the exact opposite. The writers have been pretty hit or miss on this for a while now, in my opinion.

They never provide any feedback or anything and only come into threads like this to tell people that are 'too critical" to "touch grass" and has nothing else to provide to a topic because people are criticizing there favorite perfect game.
That is when the true Vana'diel of legend will be reborn.
