They simply needed a "competent" mainline final fantasy (read: Not a disaster like 13, or an unfinished mess like 15).What is funny about Endwalker patch content is that people assumed that the resources were siphoned for FFXVI. Yet FFXVI is also quite average game that is already basically forgotten by mainstream, so if this is where the focus went then CBU3 going Ubisoft route and now just producing mediocre, safe, lowest common denominator gaming slop. This does not bode well for Dawntrail...
What they got was a mediocre action game.
Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
Made by a mediocre team, that catered to a mediocre fanbase (which would be us) that was brought about a mediocore MMO ever since 2.0
The turn atelier has made is quite fascinating. Just at the beginning of this year they said this to me:
And now it feels like we could ask tell them the exact same thing.
Doomscrolling is fun but I'm more interested in having conversations about improving the game, not condemning it.
As a casual I found it to be lack luster.
I'd go ahead and assume that it simply took Atelier a bit longer to reach the point we've had reached as early as EW's launch.
What you're seeing is the transition from bright-eyed sprout to jaded veteran who realized none of their complaints are ever going to get addressed, comparatively quickly even since it only took a single expansion.
It was the best for Raiders and the worst for Casuals. Get your Stuff straight. After doing Story and the few dungeons we got, my wife and i literally have nothing to do except pvp wich is curretly getting savaged by premade queuesyncers.

Reviving this thread to show that even Yoshi-P agrees with the criticism. He even says the word that makes certain people angry: “BORING”. Should he unsub and play other games?
Hints at large-scale group content for 7.x:
Reflecting on 6.0, Yoshida says that the team put a lot of effort into making it so the entire Hydaelyn and Zodiark arc can be played solo.
However, Yoshida says “In the 7.x series, the plan is that you will cooperate with everyone, and overcome challenges with a large number of people”.
He adds that it gets boring in a MMO if you just do the same thing over and over. So for 7.0 the focus is once again on “having fun together with everyone”.
