so then I had a shower thought - they've been talking about a change to the Gold Saucer. People have been asking for years for the Manor (and Valentione Maze) to be in the Gold Saucer for years......

Except, outside of Covid time it has started two weeks early (17th-19th) and been announced a week prior (10th-12th). Only reason they wouldn't have said something already is if they are holding it for FanFest....

Never need to justify poor spending when you never spend poorly.

It just shows your perception check need work. I've been playing this game for almost 10 years, and I haven't spent a single pennie on vanity items on the mogstation. The reason is simple, as long as vanity items are character bounded instead of account-bound, I will never touch them.

Which does play back to my original question btw. I do believe players/consumers have a lot of power ... but only if they're disciplined and principal enough to make a point to the developers. The reason why the majority of protest/boycott happened in gaming rarely go beyond just mere "word". I'm 99% sure the mogstation wouldn't be as predatory as it is if there were more people like me who refuse to use it, but alas I doubt I'm in the majority.

Or the majority doesn't believe that there is a problem in the first place and so no reason to boycott.

I would love for a YouTube channel like NoClip to go back and do a series on WoW and No Flying in Warlords of Draenor. That's a great example of players exercising their power as consumers to get a change made by a company that usually responded with "we hear your feedback but we're going to do what we want just the same".

I'm not sure how that is relevant to this year? Unless you are saying that Square would move All Saints Wake to run in Jan/Feb, just because? That was 2021, with an expansion launch.

I'm just saying, if it's happened once, there's a chance it might happen again. Like it could possibly be in November. Sure it was delayed cause of expansion launch, but there's always a chance.
