Female Hrothgar as a playable race. Show your support!

It looks like we’ll at least have an NPC one but whether we’ll get them as playable characters at the same time is still unknown. Really looking forward to seeing how they look!

As soon as they show an NPC of one, it's over, playable female hrothgar are confirmed. They can't show one and go 'sorry it's just an NPC', the backlash would be immense (since we've been waiting for 4 years now)

I expect that the upcoming fanfest in London would be the place to reveal them. It fits with the Viera reveal in SHB, being the second one there. Usually, the second fanfest has also felt a bit more sparse on information compared to the other two imo. So padding it out with a race reveal (as they did in SHB) would make more sense to me

Plus, if they are going to show an updated version, but still incomplete version of the trailer (think SHB, where it got a bit more to show Thancred fighting as a GNB because GNB was revealed at that fanfest to be the new job), they'd have to again take out every female hrothgar from the background (unless they just aren't going to put any in the full version either)

Who we assume is Ms Legs/the female Hroth had a voiced dialogue in the first trailer (and I just realized she may too in ingame cutscenes?!!) so she's most likely going to make an appearance in either the EU or JP trailer, or else why tease with a voice line at all.

Some news from the datamining community. There is a Reddit post that allegedly shows the idle, walking, running and sprinting animations for female Hrothgar. Those were coded on the skeleton that is said to belong to them.

I personally really like them, they seem to be a mix between the female Highlander and female Roe. Looking ready to fight like the Highlander but at the same time calm and restrained like the Roe. It's also in a very weird way; like some people might correct me here, but their pose seems to give the illusion of a hunched back (it might be because of slightly bent legs), but without actually having one. It is very weird for a female character, but I love it. If this turns out to be true then I am all for it!

And OMG I love it! The full-blown hearty laugh! Oh, I hope they have good voices so they can match the sheer amount of fun that this looks like!

Looks great! They're doing what they should have done with the males, which is have them lean forward just enough to suggest a more bestial attitude but not have them completely hunch over when running.

Every bit of new information we've gotten has been very reassuring. The moment of truth is going to be the face reveal. I don't doubt they'll have beast faces like the males but that doesn't necessarily mean they'll be good looking beast faces. Given what we've seen so far I'm cautiously optimistic.

My money's on Japan's Fan Fest, which will probably be around the time the next patch releases. So they will be able to talk about the reveal of that mystery character (who's totally a female Hrothgar) either before or after the patch releases, and provide a proper race reveal trailer. They kept her "hidden" for a reason, and SE loves to keep their cards close to their chest until they decide to play them. I'm guessing the new job will be revealed in London.

I saw this a few days ago but wasn't sure if I should post on here. There was a tail animation video as well but it looks like it either got taken down or something else happened to it. As for the laugh I thought it was possibly miss placed/labeled since the laugh audio is clipped due to the animation ending earlier that the voice line and thought it could be the chuckle instead due to its shorter length but found some other races with short laughs so guess it not an error like I thought it was.

Overall I think the animations for Hrothgals is looking good even though we only have 4 to look at. Here's hoping that the rest of the animations turn out good as well

I'm sure the XIV team knows how much of a backlash they would get if they only put in the NPCs in 7.0 and didn't give Hrothgals as a player race choices.

As for which Fanfest well there is two camps that you can follow and with the exception of the XIV team no one is absolutely sure when the reveal will be.

First the reasons for the JP Fanfest camp which has three ideas that would point to it being a strong possibility. First is it being closer to 6.55 which will reveal the NPC in game and be closer to the Benchmark, second is using past Fanfests for other single race reveals that weren't for Endwalker gives us the Au Ra reveal and we know FFXIV team loves patterns, and finally JP Fanfest being the last basically get almost all the stops thrown out for reveals.

Now that's not to say the EU Fanfest camp doesn't also have merits as well. First is the idea that we know that this race has been coming since the Endwalker Fanfest, so it's not really a surprise anymore outside of what the finished product will look like. Second is as you see the Data-Miners have pulled a ton of info about the race so that might be push them to just go ahead a reveal it. Finally looking at the Shadowbringers Fanfests gives us an idea since Rak'tika was teased at NA then a walk-through was done at EU with a Viera reveal. We kind of have the same setup with Yak T'el so we might see a walk-through of Yak T'el at EU that could lead into a Hrothgal reveal.

So my suggestion is to hope for the best but prepare for the worst case situation since both camps have good points about why it should be announced at the corresponding fanfests. Me personally I feel like they should just pull the trigger and do it at EU. Here's hoping they feel the same way.

There's also the graphical update to consider, which I feel may be a large factor in their willingness to show them. Obviously we're (probably) going to see at least one Hrothgar Female before the 7.0 graphical update, being our yet-unnamed new friend. The dev team, though, may want to focus more on what we could expect them to look like come 7.0. If they don't mind showing player-character versions as they would look before the update, then there's always a chance at an EU reveal or teaser. If they would rather show them off as they'd appear in 7.0, then I feel JP is a safer bet.

I haven't actually seen any of the pulled data myself, so my only visual info so far is based on dem feet, so I dunno what those files actually look like.
