Which do you prefer? Miqo'te or Au Ra?

Well as far as the females go the two look practically identical. When I'm surrounded by them in a city I can barely tell any of them apart it's like white noise.

I don't think it's supposed to be claws, exactly – rather, as I understand it, it's based on how cats' "fingers" sit while at rest to retract their claws. Minus the paw structure to make it useful of course, but still.

There is nothing in their lore that mentions lizards. They are only specified to be not related to dragons.

It is entirely possible for mammals to have scales – pangolins and armadillos are two different examples that could be drawn on – and horns and antlers are also mammalian traits.

I like female au'ra animations more but i'm a catgirl simp so the choice is obvious for me

I prefer Au Ra over any of the others. I have been one almost the whole time since they came out.

Strangely considering hyur exist I think catboi’s have the most natural and well rounded animations of all the races and genders

Their default hip thrust rigour morris hands is probably the one notable exception but if you put them in auto pose change they cycle between more animations that feel like a real person idling would use, they also have a lot of the best emotes (catboi joy) and unlike everyone’s favourite crash bandicoot or “I run like I’m a princess who just got out of her tower for the first time ever” catbois have a well rounded natural run animation that also plays into the fact that if said race actually existed they would naturally use their tails for balance

None of the races have had any exploration of their ancestors or evolution path, but overall the vibe seems to be "human variants that came to resemble particular animals" than "actually descended from different animals".

(Hrothgar being something of a question mark, but I get the feeling they either didn't really think too hard about the lore implications or decided they didn't care about lore if it got in the way of the race they wanted to add, and hoped people wouldn't stare too closely.)

Miqo'te, only because Au Ra scales look pasted on and Au Ra run weird
male miqo'te hands are weird too but I prefer them over male Au Ra

I won't play either, but I dislike Au Ra much more. Least favourite race in the game by far. The females are (imo) caricatures of women if they were filtered through the mind an anime-obsessed man. They look really weird with non-existent lips and eyes too far apart. I don't see the appeal.
Cat girls are cuter and have MUCH better animations. I just wish they had more facial variety (since 3/4 of the faces have a perma-smile - face 4 all the way) and higher quality tails. Probably the female race I would play if Hyur/Lala didn't exist.

As for men, neither. I'm ambivalent on cat boys. Dislike Au Ra men. Viera/Elezen/Hyur are more handsome.
