Personally I don't mind the "joke" troll threads since they are meant to be taken as satire and not actually baiting people into anything. We've really only seen a handful of those lately -- Renalt did a couple, I made one, Swordsman's "Tales of Skiros" story counts as that too (I hope?). That's all I can think of right now. If we were making new threads like that every day to clog the front page, it would be a problem, but we're not.

The real trolls really do make new posts every day, sometimes multiple each day, either to just say how awful the game is and how every other game is so much better, or else bringing up controversial political topics just to goad people into fighting. Naturally, I am against these kinds of threads. They are a real problem and pollute the forums with empty drivel and antagonism.

While this thread will do nothing to deter the trolls, I'm still for any opportunity to remind the trolls that we dislike them and wish they were not here. Although, the best thing people can do is simply not post in their threads and let them fade away without any attention. Even if you have something to say about the topic the troll is pretending to care about, just don't engage. If you want to say something about the topic, make a new thread for actual discussion as if the other thread never existed. Worth a shot, anyway.

Agreed. I don't mind the joke threads either because the point of threads like those is satire and humor. Some people hate the joke threads, but hey, in the end, the mods allow those posts to exist, so it's fair game.
