After patch 6.4 we need Golbez redemption arc

Uh ... yes? But I don't think that make it mutual exclusive to their connection to the people. Venat in an Azem, and this was her speech:

So yeah, it's pretty safe to say for Azem, their connection to the "people" would rank 1st with everything else a pretty distance second. Also don't forget, the capstone of Azem power is the ability to summon ... not beast, not gods or element, but other "people" to their aid, which symbolize the strength of their connection.

I'm really not sure what you are arguing tbh. All I was saying, was that my preference for would have been that Dawntrail was kicked off by us being inspired to explore the world, from Emet's last words to us, rather than this whole lackluster Golbez story filling out most of the patch and being kind of a nothingburger. Not having someone come to Eorzea and say they need our help and we go because of that, or that it's one of the scions and we either follow them or they follow us. And once we are in Dawntrail, we can meet whoever and help whoever and be drawn into something larger because, yea, we like to help people.

This. People don't seem to understand that the WoL is almost as big of a combat junkie as Zenos. The main difference being that combat isn't the only thing they care about.

Is the WoL a combat junkie or are they just basically an entity of their world that only knows battle mostly and at that point it's just them being in the right\wrong place at the right\wrong time?

I think they're not a combat junkie but they're an adventure junkie, and the battles are an inevitable part of whatever they get caught up in during the course of an adventure.

We almost were. Remember that big tease about us becoming the Warrior of Darkness? And then that just ended up being the First's alias for Warrior of Light.

Well in the earlier games, Warriors of Darkness were heroes too. The Crystals gave balance. When darkness took over the world, they sent light. When the light became too strong, they sent darkness. We only ever played as the Warriors of Light and 14 was the first time we saw what fighting the light itself looked like.

Heavensward hinted at what happens when the "light" comes too much and you saw what happened later on in the other world.
