I am in a mood so let's go.

    Myths

    1. I am bothered by the fact that we are at this position again where we are keepers of super ultra secret information about the world of Eorzea. It's starting to become a nuisance to the world-building and my immersion, when this really quite important information is kept under wraps, and we cannot see how the world would react to that information. I guess it's not important at all and I'm making a huge deal about nothing, but my god does it aggravate me. In this case, if the Twelve are ever referenced even a little bit, it just feels like we, the important smart people, know the truth about them and we are just surrounded by idiots who don't know any better. I don't like that. I'd like the world around my character to be a bit more in the know about what's going on, because then we can have a healthy (or less healthy, but interesting nonetheless) dialogue about these huge things that happen in the story.

    2. Watcher has nothing to say about finishing the AR quest. Of course he doesn't. What even is Watcher's function anymore? He has lost both of his jobs at this point. Is he retiring? Hopefully they don't kill him off, I'm quite fond of him, it's okay to have FEW ancient relics in the sundered world Yoshi-P...

    3. I still do not understand how the Twelve are able to pass on to the aetherial sea as if they were the people they once were, with souls intact and all. Deryk also speaks as if he is going to meet them again when his time comes to pass. I feel like I need someone to make me a graph on how this is all possible. Or is their '' passing '' supposed to be just symbolic and are they speaking figuratively?

    4. Why couldn't they just tell us that they wanted to pass on? Why were they so secretive, was this another Crystal Exarch situation where if they had revealed their true intentions, we wouldn't have helped them? Or that we wouldn't have fought as hard? Before the release of the patch, I was thinking they literally CAN'T talk about who they are and what they want, and why they couldn't do that would be related to the unknown last deity. But nah, it was much less interesting than that. Them being secretive feels forced and unnecessary and doesn't add anything to the story. Sure, we are somewhat ambushed in the last phase of the alliance raid, but it wasn't that cool of a moment to need all this mystery and secrecy.

Answer to both questions of point 4

Yes to both. It literally was another Crystal Exarch situation. Not everyone is going to give it their all in these kinds of situations. To point 1 look at Ishgard they just recently got told the war they had been fighting for one thousand years was based on a lie. Now go and tell them that Halone was an ancient construct of sorts that fought you, doesn't like how their prayers made her into a goddess of war and then left. Or anyone who didn't believe in the twelve. Sorry the kami and any other religious figures aren't real. Sucks to be you bro. Yes, it would have been a messy thing to tackle, but it kind of misses the entire point.

    Myths of the Realm

And that's really my issue. We are yet again harboring '' forbidden knowledge '' that when spread, could have severe consequences. And, well, I want to see those consequences. But now, not only are we incredibly powerful, our understanding of the world is completely different than most people's of Etheirys, and we know the truth about our existence and our world and our gods in a way most people will never know it. We know the truth, and it causes an even further rift between the main characters and the people of Eorzea. Of course, there's always going to be something that sets the main characters apart from the rest, that's obvious, but at this point we know too much and we are too powerful to the point it's kind of overbearing to me, and breaks my immersion.

It's not a huge deal I guess but... I don't want more '' forbidden knowledge that may never be passed on because it would cause huge changes in Eorzea's cultural landscape (which would be cool to see) '' nonsense in the future.

    10 things kupo

I get the whole disliking hiding knowledge that could change the world view of many. Yet it took humanity this long to get to the point the "gods" felt it was OK to stop doing their job. I don't think the average person of Etheirys is there yet to be told what we learned. Look at the kind of stir we were making when discussing openly Nald'Thal near one of his shrines. I like to think that at some point down in the distant future this knowledge could be shared with the general public. Sort of like it took many a cycle for the races of the Milkyway to get to a point where they could co-habitate with synthetic life in the Mass Effect universe. I'm more concerned that we now seem to be stuck with somewhat biblically accurate angels.
