Statistically speaking, any sample size over 10,000 people can be used for valid analysis. There are those who do not like Steam and I understand, but the data is not insignificant and can be used for valid projections.

Considering we're not the ones developing the game, such samples do nothing for us. Either we personally enjoy a product/service and consider it a good value for our money or we don't?

There could be hard data indicating the game is down to 50,000 active players. That's not going to change that I still enjoy the game and will continue to play it.

Yup he's just doing a really bad job of comparing a momentary peak when the expansion released, with nearly every game in existence peaking upon new releases and then falling as people finish the game and do something else, to averages. That peak wasn't even the average that month. The average was like 53K upon release. It's amusing the lengths one will go to for, I really have no point of the purpose of his obsession.
