I never saw this phase until doing a MINE run with my FC for 2 new players a while back. And I did that fight on patch. It's wild how out of control the fights get.
Remember if you agree with this thread and want to bring attention to it please like/star OP's original post.
this fight needs a urgent fix, new players that care about story are getting their experience ruined :/
I agree that major bosses should all be ilvl synced though, it kills the experience when you can steamroll it.
The ilvl thing can also lead people to do stuff that they can get away with when they have a high ilvl tank or healer, but if they're not, things are going south. AV is a pretty obvious normal content example.
I was joking with my FC about this the other day. Im levelling an alt and got one shotted, no idea by what, how or why. I arrived much later than you, but I've still finished the main game and ran Cyrcys Tower many times. But, you just kinda plod through it and stuff is over before it really started. I only know a couple of mechanic things, loads I dont know.

WHM / BLM / SMN / NIN/ DNC / Omnicrafter and Gatherer
Agreeing with pretty much everything that has been said here, just went through the aglaia alliance raid with daily roulette and it really is lame when the bosses aren't even allowed to go through their entire set of mechanics, we even skipped the damn balance mechanic. Not to mention it would feel nice to actually have to deal with the bosses mechanic in some raids like CT.
Don't have the time to read through the whole thread but want to add my voice to this. This is seriously messed up. When I went through the first time, I was on top of the world. By the time the lyrics kicked in, I was just bawling. Now I go through it and feel horrible for the poor newbies. The best parts of the highest moment in the game bar none - the payoff for hundreds upon hundreds of hours of play - is completely cut short. Even as someone who's run it probably a few dozen times now it just feels terrible. If I were running through it as a newbie it might actually make me regret starting to play the game at all. So much builds up to that moment that you absolutely cannot let it be anything short of perfect. And it was! It was a generational masterpiece now ruined by wonky numbers, and that's a real shame.
They've already announced they will be making adjustments to bring it closer to the difficulty at release.Don't have the time to read through the whole thread but want to add my voice to this. Not doubting you, but do you have a link to the source perhaps? It's the first time I hear about this, but I also can't read all the Japanese interviews and avoided parts of the last live letter.
Edit: Nevermind, it's in the patchnotes! Nice! Thanks Dev for this!
Now please do Shb, SB and HW, too!![]()

Synced to 570 in 6.5. Patch notes.
Yup, that's a victory for us.
Thing is, they now need to adjust the rest of the older content. Some of it scales very good nowadays, while others have become a joke. Honestly, one of the reasons I've been stalling my time in early ShB is because I know Hades will be a pathetic, anti climatic encounter.
