I like the way this other system in that one other MMO worked. You guys may not know what MMO this is from, but it dealt with fortifications being assaulted by enemy mobs and beast like humans. These would happen every so often and you would teleport to an area that was under attack, sign up for the fight with the npc, and then gain exp upon defeating enemies and defending the strongholds. This was a very fun and is much more exciting than these leve quests we have currently. I'm sure the devs could make a more interesting version with much more events taking place, making it unique and such.

Hamlets sound like what you're wanting and are planned for 1.22 (hopefully). Hamlets will also include DoH and DoL not just DoW and DoM.

As for original post... I'm all for a more interesting and varied leveling process however there's a very big disclaimer. Any additional spicing up has to not disrupt the party flow...suddenly transporting parties places or throwing nms at you has the potential to disrupt this a lot. However I'm sure with tweaking and stuff they could make the party exp grind formula less repetitive (some people like the repetition though so you'd have to see what the player opinion is like on this)

Potentially there's some fun things they could do to tweak it a bit like giving temporary buffs for performing well in exp parties. If your tank manages to hold hate really easily the game might reward you by buffing your DD's damage. If you recover from a very tricky situation it might restore the party's mp.
