OP is right. I definately have to do the same 2 dungeons and 4 raids 999 more times
Will put you on ignore if you can't form a logical argument but argue nonetheless
True, but I doubt that having all these resources poured into QoL and Graphics prevents them from the simple task of designing long retention content with Variant/Relic/Island/Eureka Orthos. Many people here have provided multiple solutions for them, with some being simple fixes such as better rewards. The point about the graphics overhaul makes me think back to a question asked more than once on these forums over the years. People wanted graphical updates or QoL and were asked if they would be content if the game didn't get as much new content while that was being worked on. I think we have our answer.

Not quite. If Yoshida announced tomorrow they could completely overhaul the graphics to make the game look like Black Desert or that we could have a much more robust character creator but it would cost us a patch of content, you'd probably see much less of a vitriolic response. Endwalker spent a significant amount of time overhauling content the vast majority of us will never engage with. Which meant we possibly lost content without any direct benefit. And I say possibly because we don't actually know whether the whole Trust system and dungeon overhaul truly impacted EW's development. After all, would Island Sanctuary suddenly not be a sweatshop simulator if those aforementioned overhauls didn't happen? The point about the graphics overhaul makes me think back to a question asked more than once on these forums over the years. Not to mention, QoL features shouldn't impact content longevity. It isn't exactly hard to toss in some meaningful rewards so Criterion isn't dead on arrival.

'We will not be updating the storage space for Glamour Dresser any further, full stop'Not quite. booo, says the playerbase, quite rightly
'We will not be updating the storage space for Glamour Dresser any further, full stop, because we have plans to create a Glamour Catalogue, that will function as a permanent unlock system for gear appearances. Just put a piece of gear in the Dresser and it will be saved to your Catalogue, forever. However this system will unfortunately take time to implement, and as such, there will not be any updates for storage space or plate count for the entire 7.x patch series. By doing this, we hope to have the revamped system ready to launch alongside 8.0'
well it kinda sucks but hey if it makes Glamour storage woes be a thing of the past it's worth it, says the playerbase
Losing stuff without a good justification, or losing stuff without any 'here is something else in its place' give+take, is what causes the vitriol. Of course, the issue is, each player perceives each content as 'zero sum' in certain situations. For example, losing one dungeon per patch is a negative to some, because the addition of Ultimate content doesn't 'replace' that dungeon, they don't do Ultimate so it might as well not exist to them. To that player, all that happened is that they lost one dungeon per patch. Or worse, that 'the hardcore players took the devtime from me and the content I enjoy, to feed the content they demanded'
What are you talking about? Are you the person that accuses literally everyone you disagree with with report brigading?
I only have one account, so I can't brigade people via the report button. Likewise, I'm not on Renault's or anyone else's Disc or otherwise out of forum communication channels, so I've never organized with anyone to brigade anyone (here or elsewhere, btw). Nor have I done so with the report button, which I almost never hit, and only hit against one individual for doing pretty bad levels of harassment and bullying.
Maybe you were thinking of someone else, or maybe you just respond to people disagreeing you with wild slander and lying accusations all the time?
Still lying?
If you're talking about me, I haven't been known to spam reports on other players I don't personally like. Not only have I never done it, you here are the first person ever even accusing me of doing it. Why are you lying?
I am known for a lot of things here - long posts, putting my foot in my mouth, and seeking out good faith discussion in the face of people determined not to give it - but report brigading is not something I'm known for.
It's not always handwaving. It's genuine disagreement.Well that’s fair, I just get up in arms because it feels like anything ever said is met with some sort of hand waving and after a while it just gets so exhausting. I love FFXIV and I want it to do well because I don’t really have another mmo to fall back on outside of ffxi.
A discussion between different people seldom goes "I think X." "I agree." "I'm glad we agree." "I, too, am glad we agree." "How agreeable we are!" "Oh very much so, I agree!" "I agree with your agreement." "I, also, agree with your agreement with my agreement."
Normally, when you have a lot of different people with different views, they will express their views, offer counter-arguments to other people's positions they disagree with, and so on. That's normal and healthy. The issue is that some people have decided anything they don't agree with is an insult and anyone who disagrees with them is a front and toxic casual/white knight/corporate shill/etc instead of just realizing that those other people have valid opinions and are allowed to express them, too.
Let me give you a little heads up
FFXIV has an auto demolition because it is said to be a so called "housing crisis" in the game.
So called "housing crisis" is literally created by Square Enix in order to keep people subscribed to the game in fear of losing what they have worked towards.
If Yoshi P or the dev team all together woke up and told each other "Let's open some new wards" it really wouldnt take that much for them to do it, hell they could even fix the entire housing system if they wanted to, but they dont want to.. Guess why ? Because then the people with houses dont need to subscribe anymore in between content droughts and once they are done 1 week after a patch comes out, they would just unsubscribe and come back for the next patch.
Saying "why dont you unsubscribe for 1 month and then come back to cancel the auto demo" while at the same time not blaming the company for using the practice they are using in this case, and then saying "well if you dont want to do it too bad !" as if its the players fault this system even exists is ludicrous, especially with the little added snarky tone you used like "you should be grateful you can even do that !"
They even had the opportunity to fix the housing partially with instanced housing on the island (even though I personally dislike the idea, it would have helped), but they didnt want to, and for the "why ?" they didnt, I'll refer you to what I just said above.
Because then the people with houses (or instanced houses) dont need to subscribe anymore in between content droughts and once they are done 1 week after a patch comes out, they would just unsubscribe and come back for the next patch.

In retrospect I can't believe that people were sympathetic to the extended patch cycles only for this to be the end result.
Now those who remain to play FFXIV during DT will have to wait until 2025 for any of that expansion's long lasting content because there's nothing in that vein coming anytime soon.

What a world where aveyond suddenly becomes a voice of reason on some topics.
