A: This achievement was in line with our expectations. To expand sales, we have planned a variety of PR activities and other initiatives to encourage more of the growing PlayStation5 installed base to play the title.

Square has always had whack sales expectations, a ceo video like that isn’t going to come right out and say “our game underperformed” but you can damn well bet it underperformed their stupidly high expectations for it

This is your interpretation of the corporate culture at Square Enix. Not exactly sure what you base your conjecture on other than wishful thinking. Who, exactly, have you been consulting about those "whack sales expectations" at SE? (Other than your own imagination of how it must be?)

You can look inside the forums for links to specific articles for specific games but this includes games going all the way back to at least the 6th generation
