Even if the seller is doing both, I don't see it coming out with a net gain unless the seller is also botting the maps (always a possibility). While the map bots were very obvious in Shadowbringers, I haven't seen any sign of them since start of Endwalker. Common belief seems to be they've moved from map and Eureka bunny farming to general FATE farming to buy gemstone vouchers to sell.

If there is RMT involved with the seller the OP is talking about, we're missing part of the picture.

We don't know what other characters the seller has. A lot of players set up dummy alts just to avoid potential harassment.

I can't say RMT isn't involved but I also can't say that it is involved with the information the OP provided. As I said above, there's information we're missing here.
We can only go by their claim that the one producing/selling the crafted items at price X is the same person who it buying the raw material for more than price X.
Which, from a stand point of for profit crafting, doesn't make a lick-of-sense.
I also do not see how a RMT could be funded by this method.

Now, if it was a different person buying up materials than whom is crafting the products, by using materials they obtained at a lower net cost, then it would make sense.
Player #1 is buying materials for whatever reason
Player #2 is producing goods for profit
    But neither are associated.

If RMT was the case, then
Player #1 could be obfuscating RMT activity by using market board flipping to move Gil around accounts
Player #2 could be generating Gil for RMT by making expensive products out of bot harvested materials (although, for a pure market standpoint, it would be "more profit" to just market the raw materials in a lot of the cases, but maybe they found a niche)

I guess the main question is; Is the purchase history player's name of the materials as recorded on the market board the same as the Crafter's Signature of the product being sold at the apparent profit loss?
If it is the case, then Aneshda's statement of "Just to give to the poor and make them happy?" is pretty much what is happening.

So, they're tanking the market for funsies after making a lot of gil on the mb? I do that for fun. Good luck to them. That's not proof of RMT. It's proof they might be bored, though.

I like to give some Items here and there to Sprouts too or to some poor Players. But 700+ expensive Glamour Items on a Server you do not even Play on. And some Items even in so large Amounts like 59 Whisperfine Woolen Boots? 5-10 or 20 Items but 700? That Player bought even my Items to resell them on another Server and not just 1 or 3 Items, no a whole damn Stock.

This is not proof of RMT. I do this as well. What is your idea of expensive? Mine is a gil cap. A couple hundred thousand is cheap. This seller may think the same way. I'm not validating RMT either way, but there isn't enough proof to be accusing anyone.

Items for 1 Million Gil, extreme under the Material Prices + Market Board Fees.

This still isn't expensive, especially since they're making a lot of gil back. They're taking what? A 100k maybe 200k? loss? Just let them be. Compete if you want to, but if that's too much for you, then leave. No one is holding you to this market, and there is 0 proof of RMT. You could make a case that someone is bored and has a lot of gil, but RMT is way out there. This person isn't making gil, but likely losing gil. Even if you assumed the person was out there buying cheap mats from a non-marketboard supplier, their profit margins would be small, but still profit. Maybe they want to take over the market, and this is their way of pushing out the competition. Anyway, 0 proof that RMT is involved. RMT'ers want to make gil, not lose gil, which is the opposite of the accusations.

We Players of Twintania want to sell those Items too, since we Play on that Server, we want to earn Gil. If that Player wants to give away then why he/she is not giving away his/her Millions? It makes no sense in taking over our Market and held us forever hostage just to push one ego. He can sell all he wants on his Home Server but he/she diktates the prices on all Light Servers since years and that is wrong. No one does this for no reason for years. So what is the Point in that? Why block the whole Market for all others, why hindering all other Players to earn Gil on so many Glamour Items? Other Players can't choose their prices for all those Items, cause that 1 Player Stocks so many Items at once that there is never a chance to sell your Items. Not even for a single Gil more as his/her prices.

And meanwhile, that Player dropped again all Prices, second time today. Just like I wrote it earlier.

It may sound far-fetched, but there truly are players who play FFXIV only for market boarding. Rare to no dungeon runs, etc. Those sorts get bored and have many billions in reserve.

Purely speaking economics, it is also a real strategy to reduce profits of competitors. Costco has been doing it for years -https://www.vox.com/future-perfect/2...ming-inflation. They sell their whole chickens at a loss, and in fact have many products that generate losses, just to help monopolize purchases from their customers. It's a little less effective for online purchases without the dynamic of physically bringing customers to their store, but it still helps damage their competitors. Little losses, relative to the billions market boarders have, aren't very noticeable.

It shows you are clueless about economics. Its a common strategy to sell with losses to push others out of the water and later raising the revenue to much higher standards to compensate for past losses. If you and your Twintania Server wants to get Gil you either have to compete or leaving him the future market if you dont want to.

I think what people also fail to understand is that no normal person is going to update prices for 700+ items per server manually. Having looked at their free company (which looks like the typical RMT free company) my guess is that the mule characters are run by a bot. No proof, just my educated guess. I also think that more people use bots than everyone here might think. For example I know multiple people who "allegedly" use bots for their retainers and they are not even big market board players. Then there was the PVP fiasco with half the poeple playing using third-party tools. I mean, do the math.

Most of you people bashing OP didn't even take the time to investigate the claims. If you did, you would know that OP has a point and might be onto something. The player OP is talking about looks fishy AF. You people are nitpicking about motive but who cares what the motive is. If it's not RMT than it's probably botting. Both are against the ToS.
