"trust me bro"There's an answer there, you just don't accept it. Nothing I can do about that.
Leaving aside the fact that you could probably actually find that statement around here if you looked enough - it's usually not an overtly stated desire, but something that arises as a natural consequence from people who play really high weekly hours and eventually drink the well dry of what they're interested in. When that becomes your natural state, you don't necessarily realize that you're asking for something unrealistic.
Not saying that's necessarily what's happening here, or even a particularly common thing. (Like you say - "very few", though we might disagree on how few that is - but not zero.) Just that it absolutely occurs, and it absolutely occurs here.
I don't raid these days. Who's strawmanning who?
Besides, there are totally raiders who fit that profile - you'll see them pop out like clockwork a few months after a new tier drops and they get bored of reclears and mount farms but have months to wait for the next tier. It's usually when we see tons of "waste of dev time" posts about anything that isn't a new Ultimate.
Never stopped y'all before, why's it stop you now?

Expanding your gaming horizons?
Finding something new that scratches a particular content itch that FFXIV doesn't fulfil?
Finding a new story and characters to love?
I keep intending to go play other stuff but end up back here fiddling with glamours again. Maybe this week I'll finally get to trying the Sea of Stars demo I downloaded the other day.

Doesn’t mean I don’t want more content in 14

I just wish the Expert (well, all in general) dungeons had a little more oomph to them. Healers don't have to touch their healing kit at all for boss fights, tanks don't need to use their mitigations for boss fights (only trash mobs, though even those hit as hard as Matoya's Wet Noodle Emporium lately) and DPS don't really need to worry about dodging mechanics at all because the most they'll get is a tiny bruise a HoT will take care of. Tower of Zot was probably the only dungeon in this expansion that actually kept me awake.
Same applies to the current 24man raids, too. Fantastic visuals and music, yet the fights/mechanics are less challenging than an Easy mode stage 1 Touhou spell card.

but more content isn't what people are asking for is it? isn't there a whole discussion on how while this expansion has plenty of content it just doesnt last long enough?
it seems people just want fake grinds added to said content to artificially inflat it's longevity.

I didn't say you specifically raided, I said "If you raid" - It was generalized depiction.
I'm also aware some of them get bored. It was about players within the 5% that keep repeating that they have content to do, "so why is everyone else complaining".
Language really do be difficult.
(Yes Mr. Happy you, especially you. You're Hardcore. You're in the 5%, and you're wildly out of touch with the needs of the many)

I know people are having back and forths between eachother here but something I didn't mention that I see people talking about a lot, are "single fights", like savage, ultimates, extremes, raid teir bosses. A question im pondering is what actually kills content faster? A single fight done over and over again, or content made for leveling or tombstone grinding that feels fulfilling. Therefore its not just about those single fights. single fights arent the only kind of content. Leveling in this game feels pretty bad most of the time, and so does tombstone grinding. If everything is optimized for speed and ease then it just feels like a chore we are paying our time and money to get through just to experience the "fun", as opposed to the game just being fun from level one even after MSQ. As I have really been thinking about this more and more I realized why open world type content is valuable. It provides a ton of replayability that many of us are looking for in a general sense, and then it makes the one off fights feel better as they aren't the only pillars of fun content holding everything up. And I think Zepla said this too but the jump in difficulty doesn't currently feel good if you go from normal content to the higher tiers. Again this is just my opinion but man once I get to Level 70 and I don't have to do dailies to level anymore its SUCH a relief.
