Zepla: Endwalker is the Worst FFXIV Expansion I have played

I'm sorry, do I have to write an essay and make an entire well-researched video just to post on the forums now ? Are you grading it ? I wasn't aware you are in charge around here to determine whether my post gets a C or an A for originality. Are unoriginal thoughts banned on the forums ? You realise you could've actually just expanded on the video by giving your own takes on what could've been improved instead of being an NPC just stating the obvious of "yeah but expansion bad"? "Grading this" "Grading that", ma'am you basically just posted for the sake of posting and potstirring and complain when people call you out for it. No, unoriginal thoughts aren't banned, but at least provide more to chew on.

The forum's primary purpose is for players to provide feedback. If you're not fond of the premise of a particular thread, then there's any number of other threads that you could post in its stead - or create your own, if there's a particular subject you'd prefer to discuss instead.

That aside, whether you choose to take the original poster at her word or not is largely irrelevant I think...especially since there's been many other posters who have expressed concerns regarding the direction of the game, the inconsistencies in the tone and themes portrayed in the story and a lack of content with staying power.

I dont really think its the opinion people take issue with as much as how low effort and kinda cringe it is to just promote someone's content on another site for clicks. OP could've easily wrote it out if they were serious about the issue but they chose to post about a YouTuber instead.

I don't see you calling out posts that are just "I agree /10char" now do I ? I promise you you will survive if I just shared opinions and ideas I agree with, it's ok I am an NPC, and I have unoriginal ideas, I get my opinions from streamers, and as far as I am aware that is not illegal or banned. Thank you, you can now go about the rest of your day knowing that you defeated someone whose opinions came from a streamer.

I didn't watch the video, but I have to assume she's taking a break? I think that's a great thing, other than the housing people, I can't understand not taking a break in a game that obviously frustrates you to this extent. The reason I can enjoy FFXIV is simply because I stop subbing when it's not fun. I hope Zepla has fun doing other things for a while.

Endwalker's end game isn't entirely boring but it is predictable. Even without an official roadmap such as what Blizzard have provided WoW players this expansion, we can still accurately predict roughly when patches will release and the core content we'll get in them. The cycle is arguably one of the XIV's strengths but the downside is that patches aren't very exciting beyond the mystery of the MSQ (which even then, in EW, has been heavily recycling an older FF title a little too obviously).

Even when we get new systems, such as Variant Dungeons or Island Sanctuary, the creation of paratext has been perfected. For those who don't know the meaning, paratext is text that supports the main text and in the case of XIV this would be a guide, plugin or auto completing spreadsheet like the one for Island Sanctuary. Variant/Criterion dungeons seem cool but the reward structure missed the mark as they don't want to break the core gear progression from savage raids, alliance raids and augmenting tomestone gear.

As for Island Sanctuary, I have second had embarrassment for whoever designed this system. It's worse than the Garrison. It's worse than 2010 Facebook games like Farmville. It has to be the worst piece of new content added to the game ever. I didn't even play back when it was added but original Diadem would've been a better addition had they just brought it back. What makes it morse insulting is that we can place outdoor furniture on our islands but they refuse to fix the out-of-date housing system in meaningful way (not to mention the ballot system was mega broken on the first run which pretty much sums up Endwalker). The system should genuinely be deleted from the game or reworked into proper end game content for DoH/DoL (alternatively a different patch to level from 1 as those jobs for new players).

Job design is very much a Warlords of Draenor moment. Blizzard absolutely pruned all classes in WoW during that expansion and players hated it... yeah, this job design approach is also very shit as well.

Deep dungeon seems alright but I'm still doing POTD so haven't touched HoH or EO yet. I hear mixed things about Eureka Orthos though with negative comments seemingly coming from solo players more than anything else. A matter of opinion it seems.

PvP is a big improvement but the servers just aren't responsive enough. The servers and game need to be WoW-level responsive for PvP to actually be good. No, I don't want hardcoded delay when I press buttons and I don't want such obvious snapshotting when moving around. PvP won't truly be good until then. Plus there's been working cheats that auto stun/cast LB you've been able to access since week 2 of CC being released so maybe some anti-cheat is needed as well.

A lot of her criticisms are incredibly valid and I'm glad someone of her stature is saying it.
As the expansion has gone on it's been a handful of content that just doesn't have that pull and longevity other expansions' patch content did, I've liked much of it and enjoyed it but does it last? Do I feel like doing it again? Nope.
