Was working and pulling 12 hour days after I got home. 2013 was still Legion which I enjoyed.

Got to BFA , one day realised I was logging in for the sake of sunk cost. Looked at the pitch black sky we had to put up with on OCE servers because Blizzard doesnt know what "the rest of the world that isnt America" means, contacted a friend and rolled Vel as an Arcanist, starting in Limsa.

She knew of my...dissatisfaction, I had logged in when it was night time in Limsa, bitched at my friend that this was more of the same.

They said..wait ten minutes. So I did.

What sold me on FF 14?

THIS DID.

A bright, blazing sun under an endless azure sky. From there, I never looked back. FF 14 is what WOW could have been, if the devs werent so damned lazy and utterly stupid.

I do agree FFXIV is much higher quality. I can see the polish, to the point even if I don't like some parts, I can respect it.

BFA was a horrid mess, what got me absolutely infuriated was this.

In Legion, we had been handed an artifact weapon.

My Fire Mage was carrying the blade of Dath'Remar for Gods sake, an ancient weapon owned by a hero of absolute legend, revered by the Blood Elves. Thousands of years old.

Dath'Remar was crowned the first High King of Quel'Thalas and though he did not rule, the king retained a modicum of political power. It is rumored that Dath'Remar's signature weapon was the sword Felo'melorn, also known as Flamestrike, which became an heirloom of the Sunstrider Dynasty and has been wielded by his descendants to the last of the Sunstriders, Prince Kael'thas. He also wielded the Sunstrider's Longbow.

Think about it, we had custody of a weapon that should have been treated with reverence and absolute respect. What did we do after Legion ended?

Drained it of power and then tossed it into a bank slot.

I am surprised that there wasnt a photo of my character with the words:

WANTED: DEAD

For sacrilege, desecration and crimes against the people of Sunstrider Isle.

5 MILLION GOLD to the Blood Elf who brings this traitors head to Quel'Thalas.

Because people are free to try other games and they might have noticed the higher quality FFXIV is designed with.

Ive said it before, a lot of game devs and designers could do worse than follow FF 14s lead in many areas.
