Except they didn't get boosted for EW. So yep, you can't use trusts for EW dungeons unless you have at least one of them leveled (thanks to Graha and Estinien starting at 81). What you mention is also a non-issue since you can simply use duty support.I think the reason is more SE knows people would be pissed if a new expansion came out and you literally couldn't use trust on new content until you run the previous expansion dungeon 3 times. Skipping the lvl makes it so it can stay in line with the actual lvling content.
Goes in line with the whole respect peoples time thing everyone always talks about.
Will put you on ignore if you can't form a logical argument but argue nonetheless

The trust system is just for the achievements of levelling them up since EW as there is duty support.
I know, I never said you would get all your trust boosted. I'm aware you need to get them to 80 and then the game skips a lvl there (at least I can guarantee that's how it works for new expansion launch).
I would agree with you about duty support if they straight up replaced trust. but trust still exist with an achievement.
So I'd much rather work on an achievement instead of wasting time in duty support. Otherwise I'd play with people instead.

People asking to outright pay to not play. AAA gaming is so weird.

"I want to have the rewards, but I dont want to play, please let me pay for it with real money !!!!" - Typical FFXIV player
Or the good old "I dont have time to play I have a wife, kids and a full time job, so let me skip through it and get the rewards with real money !"
When it comes to the Trusts, the only rewards for them available is titles... "Trusted Friend" for getting them all the ShB ones to 80, and "The Seventh Dawn" for 90.
And as you can always just use the Duty Support anyways they don't even NEED to be leveled.
I don't even know what the purpose for a boost for them would be other than throwing away money.
