I think multi-melding and crafting in general is much more detrimental to the games progress than primal content and previous dungeons.

The whole point of new content is to give people a purpose to keep playing, why would you want to even run the same content for years and years ?

That's my point, why bother to play new content if old gear is better, and why bother to play old content if new is better. I'm not saying content has to exist for years before it's finally replaced and outdated, but it would be nice to know that the time i invest in said content isn't going to worthless in a single patch.

I don't like on the fly gear-swaps. I like having to make gear decisions for different situations. Having gear swaps just means you don't have to plan or think about your gear at all, since you can just have it all.

Besides, the whole "changing all gear before a WS" concept is silly. I'm not gonna argue that the game should be realistic but come on, it's just silly. For real.

The problem... is that you think there wouldn't be a problem Lolz.. I agree with you, though, on the part that elitist pricks will always try to find SOME way to exclude others. Also, I didn't mean that every elitist out there is a jerk. I just wanted to clear that up.

But, like you said, jerks will always find a way to exclude people because of the way they play. So, why should SE give them ANOTHER reason to isolate others? Gear-swapping madness wouldn't affect everyone at first, but it will eventually trickle down the chain of players until one day, this new "unwritten rule" becomes the "right" and "only" way to play the game with others. It was annoying in FFXI having to adhere to all these rules that players made just in order to get through any content, and I don't want it happening here.

Also, yes, it's true that more casual-friendly players might not get invited by hardcore elitists to play with them, but that is not guaranteed 100%. Many times, the different groups mix together to do certain events, and if people are in the mindset that gear-swapping is the only way to play, well, now these more casual people will have to start doing gear-swapping too.

I admire your eagerness to play your job to its full potential. I wish everyone played with that mindset. However, gear-swapping, in my opinion, just doesn't matter in this game. You can still be the best! I just don't want people to be put down or treated badly just because they don't have gear to swap in and out during battle. It's.. just not right.

Your character constantly needs food, clean water, warmth, sometimes medicine, etc.
In case you decide to NOT buy any of these and instead grow them yourself, you need to pay for the land to grow stuff on, seeds, education to even know what and how to grow stuff, and so on

    OnTopic:
I don't like gear swapping, because I like to be forced to make decisions on which gear to wear beforehand and then be forced to live with the decision, at least until the opponent is down (which is only a matter of seconds/minutes anyway )

Gear swaps add another layer that interacts with skill to allow people to really achieve amazing results. If you played FFXI you should know of Avesta the Red Mage who could solo HNMs because he was so skilled and adept at managing his gear swaps.
I don't buy this argument. The only "complexity" it adds is the extra lines you need to add to a macro. Or the need to create the macro at all.

It does however unlevel the playing field to the benefit of players who have more time to get all of the gear needed for swapping.

You can take anything you want, do anything you want, with or without the permission of anyone. However, you might not like the consequences of your actions. Hence my prior comment about not liking the "new areas you discover" namely, jail.
