    I need a logically sound argument as to why you do not want gear swapping.
    Challenge accepted.

    Swapping means itemization becomes watered down, leading to the creation of "situational" gear. This means that your abilities are no balanced around the stuff you're wearing, but around what you could "possibly" be wearing. This leads to encounters being balanced around that, increasing stat requirements. This in effect leads to inventory bloat because *gasp* you have to carry multiple sets of crap in your inventory to do anything half-decently, which eventually create larger inventory problems as the game ages because the developers find themselves in a spot where they have to add more and more situational gear, which then leads to asinine attempts to circumvent the problem (gear storage NPCs). Which is then further compounded by the fact that you will have people with multiple classes and jobs at level cap. Leading to more wasting of resources to circumvent the problem (porter moogles).

    What I find funny about this is that people in FFXI complained about lack of inventory, yet are utterly blind to what was causing their inventory woes in the first place.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
