FF14 Classic+ new fresh start?

Hey.
I was wondering if the players would be interested in a ff14 classic+ type server that would start from arr 2.0 and expand from there on like now. Of course, it wouldn't have to be a direct copy of the original arr 2.0, but this could include many good innovations...e.g clamore, no TP system, etc..this should of course be discussed which features were opened immediately in 2.0 and which in later patches. I know that all the old content is still in this game, but at the moment, e.g. lvl 50 content, it seems to be just to get 130ilvl equipment and do MSQ. You can do dungeons and raids, but they don't have the same value if they're not progress. But would there be an idea here?

People can use minimum iLv DF setting to experience older fights at roughly the original difficulty. There isn't much value in experiencing older expansions as the were then because the game has always been the same in the ways that matter most. Old gear would regain its loot restrictions, weekly cap. Old versions of jobs is the biggest difference, especially ones that were reworked entirely. You could go back and mess around with those but it's not enough to necessitate its own server.

TP was nothing but yellow MP without a yellow Dreaming. If TP were to be readded the roles that use it would have to be given a Regain role action and the AoE attack costs would have to be reduced to parallel caster/healer AoE MP costs. And then there wouldn't be any point to it because it would just be MP and all TP costs would be shifted to MP so that TP could be removed again.

Ehhh kind of. Even at min ilvl, anything before ShB is easy easier than it was when it first came out, due to slowly and steadily buffing pretty much every job and action over the course of years. Heck even ShB duties are losing their damage requirements fast.

In my opinion, this is an issue that absolutely should be addressed by SE/the dev team.

The experience would be sad and short lived, once players realize that the only real difference of a "Classic" server would be long waits to enter instances. And no housing.

Not all TP users had it.

Even were it available to all physical jobs, it would need its Recast reduced to 60s to match Dreaming so as not to impose a stricter death tax on physical jobs, and then, again, might as well just make weaponskills cost MP so there isn't an extra bar to pretend to make things interesting.

I'm not saying bringing TP back would be a good idea. I agree it would suck. I was just pointing out that there were ways to regen TP even back then.

Most of the changes to this game were like "thank goodness, we've needed this change". That's why if we went back it would just be annoying.

As people have said you can still experience old content in a decent with the Minimum IL and Silence Echo settings. The only thing that really could help with it is something to make us do it, such as roulette for Minimum IL, Faux Hollows for Minimum IL content, or a Wondrous Tails book for Minimum IL content.
