Yeah I can see it too. 4 turtles for the 4 lords each representing an element. Turtles for Genbu himself who represents geomancy. So yeah I can see it. Good eye hehe.Caster Onmyoji would be welcomed as a unique identity, the ninjas turtle reference leaning not so much to the ninja concept but the turtle concept...indicating Genbu and the Four Lords. Personally would rather have them flesh out the jobs we already have then introduce new ones but this is par for course by now.
Been hoping for this for a while. Onmyoji, unlike Geomancer, would be distinct enough from CNJ and AST to really feel like it has a place.Caster Onmyoji would be welcomed as a unique identity, the ninjas turtle reference leaning not so much to the ninja concept but the turtle concept...indicating Genbu and the Four Lords. If the sword is indeed a placeholder, what stops us to argue the outfit is also a placeholder?I'm firmly on team corsair, but the sword in the trailer does not sit right with with me.-- mostly because it does not come off as a level 100 artifact weapon for any job really. It looks too vague. It looks like it could be a PLD sword, a RDM sword, or even a scaled-down DRK sword. And I think that's the point.
A conspiracy theory I have is that it's a placeholder weapon, and they intend to use the job's artifact weapon in the next trailer in October.
Or that anything else is a placeholder including the WoL?
Surprise they're going to completely change the WoL gender and the sword will become a brush!
Of course it's an exageration but I think you can see how the sword being a placeholder would remove all credibility about any assets we see in the trailer.
Well, the sword could be an In universe place holder, in theory. WoL literally just drops it and pulls out a new weapon. I doubt it, but it's slightly more feasible. The weapon is slightly boring being a straight double edged short sword, but it has enough details that it's obviously not an animation placeholder, but in setting throwing away the weapon is more possible than changing clothes mid fight (ShB derplander job changing mid fight notwithstanding). If the sword is indeed a placeholder, what stops us to argue the outfit is also a placeholder?

My 2c here.... I don't think the shirt actually points to any job speficially.
Yoshida has said in the past that XIV is going to be going more in the direction of OC jobs rather than jobs that existed in previous titles. As such, there's not really much of a hint that can be given off his shirts to say what it might be if the correct answer is a job none of us have ever seen before, but it's still something players expect. So he wears the ninja turtle shirt as a way of telling us that the new job uses scouting (see also ninja) gear.
That's not entirely true. He has said there will be a day that comes that they have to create original jobs. He never has stated that he will no longer use existing jobs within the franchise. Which is true. Someday they will have to create entirely new jobs, but they also pay close attention to things the fans want. There are several jobs the fans have still been requesting. My 2c here.... Plus the shirts are always.. always a hint to something that is coming and in more detail than just "oh it's scouting gear" it always points to something specific. It's part of the culture of XIV now. Fanfests have a specific cadence and specific expectations, the shirt clues are a big part of that because it brings the community together to talk, compare, speculate, just be active, and it works.
Okay. I was thinking. Yoshi P said think outside the box (I think) so I am. How about this.
There was a TMNT tv show back in 2012 where April had psychic abilities. She is a mutant/human hybrid. We have no jobs in the game that remotely are psychic based. Also in ffxiv Krile possesses some type of psychic powers yes? Being able to communicate with Hydaelyn. Also in FFV she was able to communicate with animals too right?
So what do you guys think? I mean everyone is saying we don’t need anymore elemental jobs because we have to many as it is. This could be something very different if done right.
So basically I’m focusing on the word “Mutant” plus in the new dungeon Aetherfront the last boss does do a skill called “Telekinesis” soooooo….
Thoughts?
Maybe the clue is the number "4" anc we're getting necromancer because 4 and death sound alike in JP?
I'm on team corsair though that's admittedly mainly because I want corsair :P
Just compiling a tiny amount of general information to help the speculation along, including a picture of the t-shirt in question.

Random factoids (mostly common knowledge):
- The shirt is for the new "Mutant Mayhem" movie
- TMNT was created back in the mid 80s by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird
- There are four of them
- They are each named after Italian Renaissance artists
- Common taglines/phrases include "Heroes in a Half-Shell", "The Green Dudes with Attitudes", and "COWABUNGA, DUDES!"
- They like pizza and live in the sewers
- Eastman and Laird's original company was called Mirage Studios
Should probably also consider the locale being the New World. Most new jobs have some relation to the new expac, even though some of those are haphazardly taped together (like reaper's relation to Garleans, red mage's relation to Ala Mhigo, machinists and Ishgard). It could also easily be completely unrelated at this point, like how dancer came an expansion before we had access to Thavnair, and gunbreaker is only related through post-story content of Bozja.
