I don't understand how a system that (probably) randomly puts together a party can be considered "More community driven". Also, while I am always on board to “Meet new friends” you don’t tend to really get to know someone on 1 PUG run. Again I really only have Wow to compare it to but I couldn’t name 1 person on my server who I became friends with after a content finder party, much less someone from a different server.

The quality of the party only is as good as the people in it.

I had plenty of parties in XI where people couldn't be bothered to chat.

And this can be remedied with a cross-server invite system to go along with the content finder. That way you can reconnect with someone you enjoyed talking to.

I've made parties in this game when nobody has said barely one word to each other and then other days everyone chats away like crazy, it works both ways.

And for some of us, what you list as a positive is a negative for us. "Faster, Easier and quicker" for example, the game is already pretty darn fast and easy right now... Just this past weekend I was in a XP party where one of the guys had only been playing 2 days and he was saying he was sad how easy it was to get to level 30.

Yoshi-p has said that the levelling rate is only temporary and that it won't be as fast in 2.0.

But then again I can choose to just not use it. I just hope there will be enough likeminded people for me to still play with once everyone else is queuing up for random PUGs.

I'm sure if you have a good LS they will most likely include you first before looking for PUG's.

Again I don’t have a real problem with any of it for casual type content but I still have yet to see any indication there will be something more challenging for that playstyle.

Chances are the really challenging and hard content will be for Free Companies, you will most likely have a group of like minded people where you can schedule events just like as you can in your linkshell also.

Current setup lacks, and thus becomes anti community, at least with this we have a bigger audience, might not be problem solved, but would help and be more community driven.

Community Drive doesnt mean "will make it so you all become friends in 1 big family", means you will be doing things, as a community, not solo.

Back in my more collegiate days of XI, i would smoke some special cigaratte's, sit back and XP for hours. Jam to whatever zone music was on.

Our experiences in putting together or joining a party must be very different. I have never shouted for a party and we actually use our search feature more and more. I also have 4 fairly active Linkshells that I used to check with to find members or go join their parties.

One of my best parties lately was last weekend where I was invited from the search function and we partied for several hours getting XP, chatting and having fun. The whole time people would have to go and we would replace them using the player search. Then we ran past a guy soloing and he checked us and asked if he could join, since we were only at 7 we invited him and chatted and killed and gained 9 levels together.

When we tired of that I went back to town and answered a shout for Ifrit party and that then morphed into a Darkhold AF run. I added more people to my friends list.

Later someone who remembers running with me a few times sent me a tell asking if I would come help with AF in Cutter’s Cry and I met 4 new people and obtained one of their linkpearls.

Current system is all about community but it can take some effort.

content finder will probably fail since people probably wont use it, andthey'll probably dumb down content for a pickup thing since it takes some know how at the moment to finsh anything.

but i hope for the best

Only reason for people not to use it, is if SE fail to make it intuitive like the search system.

They said in 2.0 they plan to have tutorials/quests to help players with these new features, so if they are successful people should use them.

I actually found this to be a Positive sign. Looks like Content finder isn't going to auto port people into instances.
