The person who owns 5 entire wards on OCE.Who the hell even has 300 houses, I have been playing for 2 years, and I know multiowners, and I literally have never heard of someone having this many houses, if you have evidence of someone with that many houses, please provide it, but as it is you are just throwing extreme numbers to prove your point, but I have never heard of anybody having this many houses and also doing submarine houses on them, do you even know much time it would take to do submarines on that many houses ? It's basically a full time job
Most likely the same person operating the Dynamis bozja botfarm, as all the names are extremely similar to the house owners on OCE.
Whoever it is, they make a lot of money out of it.
Well tbf OCE is literally only good for submarine houses, that's really all it's good for, that DC has been on life support for so long at this point I really wonder how it still exists, just like the new EU DC if they do still go ahead with that idea, it will only be good for people that want houses or that want more submarine houses, I remember going few months back on one of the OCE servers and seeing 1 dude in his ward, literally he was the only one in that mist ward on mist 5, there was no one else, the larges were not even taken or any of the mediums, it was just him, I really dont think it's surprising people take those houses for the sake of making gil

A topic beaten to death, but worth constantly bringing up because Square Enix seems unwilling to do anything about it out of, what I can only assume is fear - fear that they'll piss off some of the subscribers if they react to harshly and take plots away from people instead of leaving people grandfathered in.
Honestly I fail to understand why the system isn't 1 apartment, 1 personal house, 1 Free Company house per ACCOUNT. I'm sorry. I know there are a lot of players that have alts, myself included. However, your alt does not need it's own house, and being that strict would help curb the ridiculous amount of ward ownerships.
That is right, people abuse housing system and it should be looked into ^^Its quite easy to make an average of 200k per submarine every 2 days/16 hours. I do it myself with my FC house with maxed level subs.
That is 2.4m per week (Remember not everyone is on NA, every region has their own niche prices on the marketboard).
If i had 300 houses, that 2.4m becomes over 700m per week.
Now can you accurately tell me what a person would be doing in FFXIV with 700m per week, over the course of 2 years of operation?
17.2B gil doesn't just sit on an account, it gets sold.

If they remove them from those houses, that's subs money they're losing.
I'm 99% sure they can determine to which original character those alts/bots belong to. Even bots have one original character that started it all. But from economic standpoint it's not worth the hassle that's why they're not going to do it. 10 active houses on single player with lots of accounts = 10 subs. If you have 10 people like that, that's 100 subs only from 10 players.
It's the same thing as WoW. They have gold sellers and bots problem but they didn't really solve it because those subs money are what matters. No CEO would ever approve actively banning revenues. WoW solution? add token that players can buy for real money and trade for gold with another players via auction house. Rather than solving the problem they want a piece of that market. They want more of your money
If Squeenix do something about it, I'm sure it will involve some sort of solution that also makes sense for them financially. You can go on and on about fairness, video games are supposed to be enjoyable for all players, etc but by the end of the day business is business. Simple solution for them is to add houses to mogstation but I'm sure all hell will break loose if they do that.
