Where are the Zodiark/Themis/Lahabrea minions?

You can frame it however you want - both Zodiark and Elidibus are significantly bigger aspects of the story than just about anything else, and certainly Athena. With no Elidibus, there is no going back in the past. No Zodiark, there is no star remaining and no Hydaelyn plan whatsoever since it's dependent on his existence. The least they can do is provide a minion for them.

Oh I don't doubt that it's likely not, it's more that I find the reasons being offered pretty shoddy.

It felt outstandingly...weird to get Athena as the Anabaseios minion over Themis.

Perhaps they'll surprise us and make one of them a reward from the next Rising event like they did with Emet.

I'm on a little bit of cope and thinking that they saw Anabaseios as the only real chance to make an Athena minion, but Themis could be released at any point in the future for an event or something. I'm happy with my Athena minion, but I'm definetly hoping that they release a Themis minion soon. Maybe in 6.5 they'll add him to the lv 90 maps that already have Emet/Hythlo.

Antagonists stopped getting as many minions in Shadowbringers. We used to get minions of, or related to, every trial boss, but out of ShB to current, only Ruby Weapon got one, and then as a recent PVP reward. (Yes, there's a Solus/Emet-Selch minion, but not one of Hades. There's also a Venat, but no Hydaelyn. Yes, I will be that pedantic about it.)

Zodiark is important enough to the lore that I could see him being a Rising reward like Emet, or from a code included with a book or soundtrack or something like Yotsuyu. Hopefully not a $400 statue, but those seem to be getting emotes rather than minions.

Another reason we might not have the Zodiark minion is due to spoilers.

Imagine being a newer player and seeing the "mysterious being worshiped by the Ascians that's at the heart of everything" for the first time as a goofy little caricature.


Getting the Athena minion over the Themis one was a little silly though.

This didn’t stop them from adding Shinryu,Nidhogg,Dalamud etc minions though. A minion made in likeness of a literal calamity lol. Or spoilers wise there’s Graha lol.

Dalamud minion was from the 1.0 soundtrack, and that ship had sailed by the time it released.


As in, 2.0 was well into it's service life.

My point was being spoiled by seeing the being that has been alluded to throughout the entire history of the game and revealed near the climax after 100+ hours of gameplay for the first time as a cartoon in Lower Limsa.

I don't think that's equivalent to G'raha considering he shows up in ARR and anyone who couldn't guess the Exarch's identity probably skipped cutscenes and doesn't care anyway.
