Now don't get me wrong, a lot of the community I've encountered since ARR has been brilliant, welcoming, friendly, helpful, kind. Like, genuinely. But just as much hasn't, and it's been this way since the start. Just like any other MMORPG's community. The problem I've found especially since mid-late ShB is the heavy enforcement of this facade. Now the mask dropped pretty quick when so many members of this so called FRIENDLY, community were flipping tables when streamers like Asmongold started playing, bringing a sizeable influex of newblood from his community into the game. Things said along the lines of... he's not welcome, his community is not welcome. They're toxic, they'll make the game worse, they'll ruin the community.
Now, the mask slips again because of Xbox. :') They're not even playing yet and plenty of folks are losing their minds.
Personally I'm all for the community getting called out on this and the reputation getting shattered, it might do something about the heavily enforced toxic positivity that plagues this game and it's community.
