I just figured the TMNT shirt was a reference to the beast tribe around which the xpac seems centered

When Yoshi-P was talking about how he couldn't reveal the specific jobs today, he actually stripped out of a comically over-sized shirt to reveal the TMNT shirt he was wearing underneath it and made a big deal of it, giving the audience and cameras time to focus on it. So unless he's intentionally jerking us around, his shirt is intended as a clue to at least one of the jobs.

I didn't say otherwise. But, we're talking about a beastmen race with plated backs and who have the faces of (quite iconically and cutely, in the case of their children) anthropomorphized turtles, and we have no other clue to go off of for the guaranteed Caster being added.

It looks pretty much interchangeably like the Ktisis PLD sword or the RDM sword, iirc, just with a bit more Ronkan vibe...

It's almost like sword variations aren't particularly restricted in this game, so long as SAM still never gets any worthwhile guards (unless, of course, they're cutlass guards, or tulwar guards, or scimitar guards, or basket guards, or...).

I've got no horse in the race, as I'd be fine with whatever (or, equally skeptical of any job concept until I see how it's executed upon), but a sword fit to the setting in which we saw it doesn't seem like it'd be hard evidence one way or another.

Okay I’ll take the gamble and start this off. Now I really want geomancer. Always have. It’s my favorite job in the FF series. Anyway.

Yoshi was wearing a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Mutant Mayhem shirt. Now first looking at it I immediately thought Genbu is basically a geomancer so hey we’re getting geomancer. But, then something was just off.

So I looked up the movie and the actors/directors. There is an actor name Shamon Brown Jr who plays michelangelo one of the turtles. Shamon sounds awfully close to Shaman. Then it all made sense. The nature theme of the new world. Shaman fits that theme very well. Also Yoshi did this before with the Spider-Man shirt when Samurai was teased.

I read through some reddit post already and see some people saying it’s maybe artist/pictomancer from FF6. I mean it makes sense too since all the turtles are named after famous artist. But, again. Something doesn’t feel right with the theme and all. This next expansion is nature themed. Shaman just makes more sense. Also Shaman will be an original new job to FFXIV. I do believe we’re getting an old job and a original ffxiv job. Endwalker brought Reaper. So I doubt we will get two original melee dps jobs back to back. I’m sure caster will be the new original job and the melee will be an old revised job to fit ffxiv.

I’d like to see what my fellow WoL’s think.

That was my thought as well. A pistol (Corsair) or, at a stretch, a pouch for a grenade or similar device (Gambler).
