idk criterion is literally just a boss rush in a linear corridorHonestly, I think the only reason variant dungeons are somewhat interesting is because the standard dungeons have become so insufferably dull at this point that any kind of deviation from the norm feels refreshing, even if it's something as mundane as having branching paths with minimal actual influence on how things play out.
Criterion really makes me wish we could've gotten proper hard modes for all of the other dungeons in the game, though.
It's fine I guess but they could do better than that.
I sort of disagree. Is it perfect? Not really. But it's a step up compared to our usual dungeons.
I think it's a bit unrealistic to expect Bozja lost actions to be implemented there since it has many variations and some are borderline broken.
That said, I do agree that trash mobs are boring. And alternate paths have too little difference between each others.
..... Are you the type of person who find normal dungeon's trash mobs to be interesting?
Done it once, was pretty much more of the same but they make a bigger deal out of it with NPC's.
10 minutes of entertainment. Now i'm playing WoW because FF fails to deliver engaging content outside of weekly raids.
We already have so much braindead content. The game needs more midcore stuff and proper character progression outside of tomes/savage because man this game is getting boring.
I know people on the forums are *STOKED* to AFK in Limsa with their shitty glam nobody cares about, but some of us want to actually play the game and have stuff to do.
Well i got bored of it in solo after 12 runs that's 11 more than current normal dungeon :3
It's good for /gpose![]()
I dont dislike them, they just need more fine tuning and be more creative with content. (in general)
It shouldn't feel like a slog to run to each check point, dungeon progression needs to be more fluid and faster. I doubt new players can or will enter this dungeon early on, so let veterans have fun for once.
Every check point doesn't have to be filled with trash mobs, it's okay to have some puzzles and riddles. Or add more random events such as visiting gods/kamis that boost you or trick you. (Thinking here about HoH the little minions or minigame events such as the card guess-game from treasure maps)
"Another-criterion" version should be tuned down to midcore difficulty, so even random partyfinder groups can clear it more easily.
Add gear enhancing upgrade materials or anything that really is worth to return to Variant dungeons. It's beyond me why dev's create content, just to let it die after a month.
Criterion difficulty is fine IMO, they should bump variant to be midcore instead of nerfing criterionI dont dislike them, they just need more fine tuning and be more creative with content. (in general)

But that would require engaging with critiques about CBU3's design decisions. There's a solid section of forumgoers who are absolutely convinced that any criticism is "trolling", which is much easier to dismiss. It's less work than taking the position of actively cheerleading the stupidification of the combat system, which is what they do when they're not accusing everyone of being a Gaius alt. :eyeroll:Is it just me or is it actually... pretty darn easy to tell when a Gaius-of-a-thousand-faces post is purely trolling or not?
He doesn't exactly hide his shifts in tone/attitude, and what few true bait/trap threads he(? honestly, those ones were harder to tell) started were pretty clearly so.
Or, more simply put, you can go into damn near any of these Skiros/Gaius/etc. threads that'd seem remotely serious and, sure enough, simply read the topic as/for what it is, rather than as some elaborate scheme to twist player opinion. If it's written sarcastically or with the sole intent to inflame, the OP will make that obvious very quickly.
I was excited to do Critereon Dungeons cause I was like finally savage content for dungeons. I love dungeon runs. I always like working my skills and things since I am not really a raider and I was really disappointed by the dungeons. It wasn't exciting for me and I was let down.
