Never really understood this obsession with player numbers. Who are you trying to convince? What for?

Congrats? You showed 4 failures? That doesn't mean FF14 isn't a failure. The entire MMO genre is a failure LMAOI know you are trolling but i will take your bait and see if i can contribute with some useful info if anyone is honestly interested.
TwitchTracker and any stream platform is a mean to analyze AUDIENCE (e.g: people that probably is not playing the game right now for multiple reasons).
We can say that is a indirect way to measure hype. Keep in mind that our community is weird and the same person may watch multiple streamers just to see reactions to a specific scene (me included).
World of Warcraft
ESO
Lost Ark

I don't personally buy into the idea that the MMO genre lacks in appeal to 'younger generations'. If anything, it's the lack of innovation that is to blame. Yoshi-P claimed the same thing about turn based JRPG's and yet they've been doing fairly well for themselves.
Putting someone in charge of FFXIV who actually has faith in the genre and a fresh perspective would do wonders for the game's livelihood. I can't think of many industries where someone in charge of them has little faith in their future would stick around.
How do you get from "turn based JRPG's" to "who has little faith in their future" of MMORPGs? There was a lot missing from that narrative.I don't personally buy into the idea that the MMO genre lacks in appeal to 'younger generations'. Though various interviews he's made and the statements contained within. I certainly don't agree with his takes on the idea that turn based games aren't exciting enough for the younger generation of gamers as he implies in this particular interview:

Another poster also linked interviews containing commentary showing little faith in the MMO genre, as found here:
Funny, so he doesn't want to be on the Board, and then also claimed in 2016 he didn't want to be in the Producer role for 14 according to this... really doesn't sound like a recipe for happiness.
