Yeah I get where you're coming from. I used to be in that position myself. It was definitely fun to decorate, and I've used it for a lot. But the demolition shit sucks.
In any case, it sounds like there are plenty of homes available on your world so maybe just buy one.
You know if you have discord, there is couple of servers that actually have information about what plots is open right now and actually some tutorials about how to deco if you want.
My advice is get a apartment first, they are alittle cheaper than the Small House but it will allow you to have any base of operations (Plus you have a place to storage your housing stuff, freed any open spot in your inventory and retainers.)
They do need to fix it, yes. At least on other servers anyway. Sagittarius may as well be a wasteland, and currently, you won't have much issue really getting a house on many servers bar very highly populated, but that is because there's are available houses by virtue of the restoration of the auto-demolition, rather than there genuinely being enough houses to universally match the player demand. At the very least their current implementation in the long-term is not feasible.
Or at the very least they need to allocate their resources better so that they have dynamic ward counts. e.g., rather than all servers having x number of wards, redistribute accordingly, so servers, where there is an excess of entire wards free, e.g., OCE, Sagittarius, etc., can be redistributed to another world.
That is how I would do it anyway -- Under their current system at least.
At the very least though, I don't see why you'd have an issue getting a house on Sagittarius.

Good to see fresh topics on the forum. We have never seen this thread before. I am sure a lot will happen as a result. Thank you.Hi,
I'd just like to express, how much it sucks to have a limited housing, which is restricting new players from obtaining a house. I started on a fresh server - and you know what? In a few weeks, majority of the plots were bought out, and some of the wards are bought out by the very SAME name (fc or player wtf)
This is a huge turnoff, cause everyone says that housing is the endgame.. but.. only a minority of people can reach the endgame? Why the artificial limitation of housing?
It's such a laugh into the face of people that have to compete with hundreds or thousands of people for one plot that sometimes randomly frees up, and then you see entire ward being bought out by one FC or some random bots with same name... like.. do you even care about this game anymore, Enix?
Some of my friends keep telling me that they are trying for like over 3 years to get a house... jesus...
When you say fix housing do mean that you are unable to get a house at all or are unable to get a large or medium?
I play on Zodiark, idk why forums choses this character, idk what you talk about and why are you so desperately protecting this stupid system xd
My guess is that they don't want a small plot unless that number included some medium and large ones
IMO should they ever add something like a personal housing instance I'd say they need to be in their own areas where it makes sense not to see any neighbors at all. Such as Sea of Clouds floating on your own little island in the sky. Ruby Sea in your own little bubble under the water. or utilize that Galrond Ironworks workshop in Mor Dhona to commission a flying airship house that starts out very small and basic and players can then sink gil and resources into it via the staff at the workshop to improve and expand it.
Housing system does needs some changes here and there but there is alot of different alternatives you can do. Like I say Apartments is a good one to look into and using FC Housing as well (Fun Tip: Do you know that FC Housing and Apartment has separate storages, so that means you can hold up to alot of housing items in both of them).
But here is the question for you, What would you do to improve housing?
yes. but, only when JP players are complaining.
Time to reinstall duolingo and start learning japanese. who knows what praises and complaints are being discussed in the JP forums?
I wish I could read JP.
I'd just like to address this one little point right here, because I've never seen anyone say that housing was the endgame. I used to see them joke about placard clicking savage, but that always just a joke. Housing is completely optional and has no affect on the rest of the game if you aren't running an FC. Even if you are running an FC the only thing you need a house for is Submarines and Airships, which aren't really fun. You just sink a ton of resources into building them, and then send them out to hopefully get mats and minions you could have just bought off of the marketboard.
If decorating houses is your thing, start by getting an apartment to practice, then sell your services as a house designer for gil. People will pay tens of millions for a good house designer in this game, and you don't have to be anchored to a 45 day auto-demo timer.
You aren't missing out on endgame by not being able to get a house though. Savage is the gameplay endgame, but most people will quote glamour as the true endgame due to Savage gear being irrelevant.
