Cope, seethe, mald.
Cope, seethe, mald.
I love it when people mald about having no grind for relic weapon steps. Lets me know they don't live a life outside of FFXIV :>
You know honestly. This is actually super funny. I still hate it and wish they'd stop and varied the objectives but the fact that these steps have been the LITERAL EXACT SAME EVERY SINGLE TIME.
Kudos to the dev team to have Thal's Balls to not deter from their stubborn vision of lack of variance. I'm sure this is the final, FINAL straw for a lot of people regarding FFXIV and to everyone who feels this way, I wish them well on their endeavors of finally quitting this game.
I disagree with this though others may have a different opinion depending on how they view the Hildibrand quests.
To me, Hildilbrand is its own separate content even if it's being used as a prerequisite for continuing the relic. After all, I've been doing it for several years (other than the ShB break), long before the EW relic series started. The story has nothing to do with the relic beyond Godbert showing up to say "don't forget there is more work to do on my family heirlooms".
If you take the Hildibrand quests out and just leave the actual relic quests, we're getting noticeably less story than ARR (even if it was annoying to follow) and slightly less than HW.
Stop now. The Umbrite step also required Crystal Sands which allowed people to acquire them to a variety of ways, even involving oft-neglected content like combat levequests. Was it much different when we would spend tomestones on a bunch of different tokens instead?
- Singing Clusters
- Umbrite
- Archaic Enchanted Ink
Or running dungeons to earn a token (instead of expending tomestones)
- Bozja memories
- Atma book credit,etc
It is all the same when you think about it. If anything, we have MORE story than the ARR or HW relic quest.
This is a very dishonest comparison.
Precisely. They intentionally left out the actual details of those relic steps in a bad-faith attempt to "gotcha" concerns of players.Singing clusters have other options to them do they not? I seem to recall the two girls having repeatable quests on the daily/weekly to get them involving other content should you wish not to burn tomestones. I also find it odd you leave out Umbrites partner in crime Crystal Sand for the step which had a whole menu of alternate trade ins of varying items so you could spend the poetics on Umbrite instead. I will give you Archaic Enchanted Ink though, that to my knowledge has no other acquisition method. My point is I would be fine with this if I had an option to not use my tomestones that made me go do content I feel needs help with wait times like SB/SHB instances.
Right. The past relics were tied into their own quest lines with reasons for doing stuff to get things to build and upgrade it. This time around it's just like an addon to the newest set of quests for the best side story in FFXIV. You finish the available quests for the ongoing side story, then Godbert basically shows up and says "Let me squeeze this thing with my pecks and we'll use the juice to make the weapon better"I disagree with this though others may have a different opinion depending on how they view the Hildibrand quests.

There was plenty of time to work on multiple animas as each step came out. You didn't have to have the entire thing done. You just had to be current on the step and then you could start the new step on each when it came out. I was working on like 3 or 4 myself as they released them.
This is an RPG? Check out "Disco Elysium".Don't care, doesn't matter. Still the best MMO, still better than WoW. We have a 100% rating on OpenCritic. I've been playing for hours a day every day for 12 years and I still haven't ran out of content. I literally cried 20 times during the MSQ. Also, we get CUTSCENES in this patch. The story is amazing, it's literally the best work of fiction ever written. FFXIV is an RPG first and an MMO second. Everyone loves the story. If you don't, you're welcome to go back to WoW. Oh wait, what's that? Shadowlands? Fruit bowls? Bobby Kotick? The Cosby Suite? Yeah, didn't think so. FFXIV won, WoW lost. Shadowlands flopped and Dragonflight flopped harder. What else... reads from notecard This must be a troll. All opinions against FFXIV are trolls. Yoshida literally saved the company with ARR, you should watch that documentary on YouTube. flips notecard Also, FF16 just came out, why aren't you playing that? This is just a 0.05 patch. That means there's way less content than usual, so you should be playing other games. Still more content than Shadowlands though.
So true!
That's an RPG ;3
But I get your point and I'm happy that you're happy with ff~
