It's a good idea. It's real "Stages of Grief"-like, your relationship with this place, and this game. I take breaks whenever my sub expires.

Once you've accepted nothing will change, whether that be with the game itself or the people who feel trapped within, it's really freeing.

And surrounding yourself with negativity is no good for anyone. I think it's been well-established how...combative, for a lack of a better word, things have been over the last year.

Like, people defending or handwaving abhorrent behavior is actually some insane stuff.

This place isn't doing any good and is functionally worthless, so unless you are the equivalent to a pig in a mud wrestling gauntlet for masochistic forum discourse, always take care of yourself first!

I think what's sad also is that even if people have legitimate suggestions or criticisms for improvement, I don't feel like anyone from SE cares or considers anything said here on our forums, so it makes getting overly invested - as you said - functionally worthless.

Honestly, that's actually why it's as bad as it is, if you ask me. We could've had an open dialogue with SE, legitimate complaints could've been acknowledged, there could've been a conversation, and you probably would have less vitriol. It's actually crazy how complete silence or being ignored by SE is probably much worse then them just outright banning people who complain too much.

As an expert void screamer myself, when you yell into it for long enough, it literally bleeds back into you as you scream louder, and more passionately, demanding to be heard, and it lowers your patience, lowers your tolerance, and really promotes hatred of the "other", the enemy. I have to always remind myself, most people here are not my enemy, it's ultimately SE at the end who can stop this madness with clear, direct communication from the community/GM team, both in game and in forums. Yet, they do not. A wound, allowed to divide and fester. Do you blame the untrained dog, or the negligent owner?
