I'm over the end of the MSQ, it's still boring for most of the cut-scene.

The thing is with not changing the content style and gameplay is that, it's the same content over the new expansions, some others MMO did well of changing their gameplay, keeping the usual content, but adding some more new ones.
I'm trying a lot of game, I come back here sometime, but this is the first time I get really bored by the game 1 day of getting back.

I agree with you, the game isn't for me anymore. Sadly.

I have seriously been considering relinquishing my house on my server and transferring to Aether. I am extremely bored over here. I am on Aether 80% of the time anyway. My FC and several others are dead. Even Discord activity has all but ceased to exist outside the occasional gpose screen shot posted. I can no longer benefit from the FC buffs because I am on another DC ad they do not carry over. Never home to use my house. Pretty much only come back for my retainers anymore. Thing is, I'm not fully convinced the grass is greener on the other side yet.

Not server, but Data Center (DC). The server you're on (Midgardsormr) is part of the Aether DC, which has become the "go to" DC for most PF activities. As you noted, it's absolutely hopping with groups at pretty much any time of the day. It's the other DC's that aren't.

This isn't the gotcha you may think it is. Ive said before here that this is my old Main character. You can look at my levels and see I stopped playing on this one in ShB. My current NA DCs PF certainly isn't dead by any means.

Cool, it's even better than what we were implying, then! My only follow-up question would be what kind of breakdown is there for the PF's on your DC? Just like Aether has become the go-to place for endgame groups, it's possible another DC has become the go-to place for things like RP perhaps (basically asking is the PF filled with groups in general, but actually has very few doing non-RP content)?

No it really isn't. It's implied PF is dead on anything NA but Aether which isn't true. But then again this forum like to use hyperbolic language to describe things. And I've also already said (albiet not here iirc) about 75 to 80% of peak time pfs are content related. I don't have to travel anywhere to find what I'm looking for nor does anyone ai know, and none are roleplayers.

One could say a game forcing you to interact with certain systems isn't good. I hear no one say the ARR relic grind was good or fun. The only really difference is current relics let you do whatever you want to get your relic. I'll take that over the God awful books/light farming of ARR. I'll take that over the eventual boring tedium of Eureka style Zones. I personally can't call EW a lesser in that regard.

I feel like we should clarify that you cannot do anything you want to grind for the current relic, you have to do things that will award the right kind of tomestones which right now is only EW content and roulettes. You cannot, for instance, grind for tomestones for the current relic in Eureka or Bozja, or even FATEs in older zones.

If another DC besides Aether is also seeing 100+ PF groups focusing primarily on endgame content, then the situation (health of the game) is "even better" than having just one DC being the focal point for that kind of grouping up.

Ok that's possible. Your first line kind of read weird so that's also my bad there. But yeah Aether sure may be the to to raid spot but PF for sure is still alive in other spots.

Aion (new classes, new systems)
GW2 (new mechanic of classes, mount added with mechanic of gameplay)
FFXI (The older One, remember this one ? a whole new expansion lead to new contents)
World of Warcraft (they changed multiple thing, keeping some old one, like Mythic+ and Dungeon)
Archeage (new classes, new way of playing the game)
etc... (You can search for more, there's plenty of game that change their gameplay to stay attractive).
