No. Not doing anything means they can do it again and again and again. Sometimes they get bolder and creepier. Nip it in the bud now. Stopping it right now means someone else isn't subjected to this crap later.
When you deal with human beings, never count on logic or consistency.
Fluid like water. Smooth like silk. Pepperoni like pizza.

Then report when it's reportable. What are you going to do then? Ask them to leave? Like I said, they have as much right to stand or wander in any open space as much as you. Now if you don't want to be in the same space as them, then leave.
This is such a petty non-problem and it's giving me the "I-own-this-AFK-spot-in-Limsa-so-noone-else-can-stand-in-my-spot" energy.
Edit: Put on blacklist - no more messages/emote logs.

Just like in real life people do not like being followed. I guarantee you if someone you didn't like followed you everywhere you were going but never saying anything and just watching you...you would want something done about. Without the context from the OP at all we can tell just from the tell alone they are not only following but they are watching you. Then report when it's reportable. What are you going to do then? I'm one that can generally hold my own and even i would be creeped out if someone was just following and watching me. Police would be involved immediately.

Again, overreaction. Was the OP harassed? Was the OP's gameplay affected? Was the OP harmed? Was the OP phished for their information? It is nowhere near comparable in real life.Just like in real life people do not like being followed. That DM might be cringe due to some oversharing involved. But they're literally just a player in open space with the OP. They could do that. It is OPEN space. For all. The area designed to have multiple players in it.
If I "watch", look, or target characters in Limsa, does that make me their stalker? That's a ridiculous mind set.
Yeah because blacklist makes the person magically disappear from your screen right ?Calling someone weirdo and a degenerate when someone was just making a point. Now that's harassment. Careful what you accuse people.
There's a difference between defending and pointing out exaggeration and overreaction.
If you file a harassment report, literally the system response will tell you to blacklist that person. If that could even count as harassment.
Oh wait it doesnt

The blacklist literally prevents interaction with that person. It does what it intends to do. If you do not want to share a screen with them, leave.
Do they HAVE to magically disappear from your screen? No. Like I previously said and is ignored, they have as much right to stand or wander in any open area as you.

i aint arguing with someone who thinks stalking is okay
adios

As someone who had a person blacklisted and they still managed to follow me around the game while I was doing MSQ, spam me with slap emotes and even go so far as to take on the appearance and name of my original character (after I changed both to try to throw them off) and proceed to harass my friends....the blacklist only prevents messages being exchanged. It absolutely doesn't prevent stalking/harassment/interaction taking place in other forms. The blacklist literally prevents interaction with that person. It does what it intends to do. If you do not want to share a screen with them, leave.

Yeah, person can stand there but it's pretty common courtesy to not just send a random person a creepy message because you're speeding on a red bull and trying to use a disorder as an excuse for the behavior. Speaking as someone who has one, it's not acceptable.

Did you miss the part where OP LITERALLY LEFT AREAS and the person followed them? The blacklist literally prevents interaction with that person. It does what it intends to do. If you do not want to share a screen with them, leave.
