I plan to get new data sometime next week after demolitions start, to see how many plots were demolished. As for EU getting 8 new servers - ye, I don't think that's good idea, it's pretty clear from Dynamis that people are not very eager to jump on entirely separate DC just for a small house (people do transfer for M or L houses, but there's only 1500 private Ms or Ls, and 400 unrestricted Ms or Ls per server, if all 30 wards are open), and that's NA, which has higher population per server than EU. And saying that only NA has housing problems - well, you have data right here, so you can make your own educated opinion.

You literally quoted my educated opinion. EU is getting the number of servers that according to you will bring it's population density to JP levels. Which leaves... only NA.

Yes, most likely in 7.0 (potentially in some later 6.5X patch), which is at least year away, and demolition has been on and off since the war started. So situation was pretty bad at the very least from over a year ago, and will be bad for one more year. Once demolition finally resumes, we might have ~50 non-FC plots per cycle, similar to NA, but I still wouldn't call that good or non-problematic.

Your server had 15 plots available for private buyers (12 of them in unrestricted wards), so I really wouldn't say that "housing problems are mostly on 3 North American data centers".

You could just correct yourself and say you meant in the future, otherwise it seems like you try claim current situation in EU is good, which is clearly not.

One more year? Auto demo is hitting this week and according to the official announcement the DC has been scheduled for this summer. https://eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...8a3986554a2#06

I mean, you did this poor comparison of EU vs other servers that already have demolition like 3 days before EU is about to get plots that were abandoned since Dec 2021. Why? Did you forget that it was happening or did you just want to gather some data moments before it becomes irrelevant? Don't worry, I'll post again to remind you.

Once again we havent heard anything about the expansion for EU in a very long time, if it happens in the game's current state, be ready to see a massive split in the population, it'll be a disaster, either that, or the new DC will just be an abandoned wasteland worse than what Materia is at this point.

Also EU housing is not in a very good state, but that is also partially on the players for refusing to move to Raiden/Sagittarius, those 2 worlds with 1 on each DC have more than available housing, it's basically free real estate, you can move over and get at the very least a small shirogane plot on the first round, but people dont want to do that, they'd rather complain they dont get one on Ragnarok or on Zodiark, but that's on them, so if you see it that way, housing is fine on EU, however if you go by the "old" worlds, no it isnt fine, but the new worlds are wide open for people that want houses.

So you just want me to ignore biggest current problem with EU housing to skew data to make it seem like everything is fine?

I already told you I'll rerun this in few days to see how will demolition affect it. I'm skeptic that resuming of auto demolition will fix EU housing but I'm ready to be happily surprised. I would say EU will be healthy if we had at least comparable amount of private/unrestricted plots as average JP server has, which is around 498, right now EU is at 159 with new servers included.

As others are pointing out, just adding more servers is not best solution, Sagittarius is still pretty dead even though it is on existing DC, people just don't want to swap server, or even worse, whole DC, just to get a small house. If they were to make brand new DC, it will be most likely even worse than Dynamis.

So it was the latter: you did just want to gather some data a few days before it became irrelevant. That, plus not mentioning the effects of auto-demolition in your opening post, help paint a false narrative of the EU situation I guess. As you can see, despite still missing demolitions from Feb-June EU servers have hundreds of plots available to private owners. By mid August demolition will have fully caught up to other regions that already have it. Looks like everything is indeed fine.

It would be good if SE focused their resources to fix housing in the region that actually needs a fix, which is NA. EU does not need additional wards and neither do JP or OCE.

You know, you have all data I provided, how about you make your own analysis, where you can skew everything to make your biased conclusion that <20 private plots per old EU server is fine. Inb4 you say that "actually, if you ignore past years with demolition on and off, it's fine"

Anyways, as promised, I've made before and after to see how many plots got demolished. That number is 6899 plots in both EU DCs. This puts both EU DCs above both Mana and Gaia in housing availability, let's see how will it turn out after few roulette cycles.

    Demolished plots:
