Story is mostly a question of what one likes in a story. Some people enjoy (silly) Mary-Sue-style overpowered main characters easily defeating enemies, some enjoy dramas with a lot of the cast being personally involved, others like stories that parallel real scenarios... etc. Shadowbringers and Endwalker are clearly the brain child of someone else than what was the MSQ before. With all consequences. Endwalker was sold as finishing all that came before. It was very much in style of the new writer with no regards to what came before ShB. They seem to hate everything before. There are also objective qualities that are weak in the story. Some have been there since the beginning. For example in a lot of sidequests characters you don't know will tell you directly how they feel. No subtext. Just directly telling you. Stories for little children are often written that way.
And i can probably create a much worse and more boring game than FFXIV. WoW being "bad" (or not) does not elevate FFXIV. These two games are not all games that exist.
If there is so much to do why are you in danger of burnout? Because a lot is grindy and boring.
I started leveling desynthesis and it's way too slow...
Is that about the "mad" people that aren't EW sheeps or about the WoW-Quitter-To-FFXIV-fans?
