doubtful. what I think we have is aged hamsters who occasionally wake up and run on a wheel, which then randomly deletes threads on the first page.

honestly, is there any other explanation for how general seems to be "moderated"? no hidden cabals of mass reporters, no living in anyone elses head, just... tired rodents

You are probably right and thats too bad. Sad that a small handfull of angry, bored people have basically ruined a nice place to talk about the game. I like several of the posters and personalities here so I lurk around but usually talk about the game far more through other media.

Unfortunately it takes active moderation, or everyone ignoring trolls to have a nice environment, and we don't have consistent moderation, which leaves everyone ignoring the troll, and well, people are people. It's not going to happen lol.

I'm not entirely sure if they want that.

A lot of the people in various positions of power in the general FF14 community have skeletons in their closets. That includes the reddit mods and the discord mods. If you force people who just flat out won't fit in there to the point where they'd resent it, then those skeletons are going to get dragged out.

I'm sure you are right but the solution really lies with "us." The best thing we can do is simply not engage with certain individuals, and bore them until they leave, but I know that is also easier said than done.

Lets be real, the only thing we can thank the mods for is allowing unhinged freaks to continue posting. Forum drama is very funny occasionally. They are not doing a good job actually moderating the forum.
