How is the 6.4 story this carebear

This whole story just feels like a long checklist of places to go, people to meet, you talk to them for half a cutscene and its done

It brings up a good point though. I wish the story was a bit more nuanced. We're constantly dealing with the story straight up telling us things bluntly. I know this is fiction but even still, normal human beings don't just walk up to you and drop their life stories on you or tell you their troubles.

It's a bit painful watching the Garleans openly back down in chat because they're afraid of the status quo that the alliance has over them. All this because the game can't think of any creative way to explain the situation to you.

The fire comparison... I guess it could be plausible, I just think it wasn't executed properly.

Also, that Zenos flashback gave me the perception it was about "trust" rather than friendship. Zenos trusted us and in our capability to defeat Endsinger, I think that was the message here.

Not really. Plenty of threads that don't discuss 6.4 here. Though I will concede that the thread title does imply discussion about the 6.4 story.

I am, however, avoiding Social Media for the time being since (from past experience) players submit spoiler pics, which are far less avoidable, without even thinking.

The whole aspect of friendship and understanding between people of different cultures and situations, which has been in the game since ARR, really is foreign to some people. It may not have been the best way to put it I admit, but the intention was clear. Try to understand the situation others may be in. If thats cearbear then call me... a carebear? Do they have names?
