The real juicy story was in the raid, though. That story AND the lore implications AND the things they brought back for it AND the bonus cutscene if you talk to the final quest turn-in guy a second time and pick the option about the Auracite (you MIGHT have had to do Ivalice to have that dialogue option...but surely everyone has by now, right?)

Someone isnt smart enough to understand trama. People irl react to simply being tapped on the shoulder because of past abuse n such. Its a very real thing.
Hell even most you speak to don't want the Tower messed with. Now bringing forth a promising future with something tangible like trading that make sense. You're complaint is flat. "Oh we have to be therapists", no its called simply being human and caring for your fellow man. We're there to help them not impose.

If anything I'd say your existence on these forums seems more checklisted than msq. You seemingly have to post a stupid take every so often that holds little to no weight. I can't say that at all or often with xivs msq

I have a proposition for you. If you were faced with the choice of not lighting the fire and saving the pyrophobe's sanity, but to accomplish this means that the party would freeze to death; this is preeminently established to be the verified, inevitable result in this simulated scenario. Which do you choose? Do you light the fire and save the party, or do you take mercy on the pyrophobe and allow the party to perish?

All this to say, yours is far from the only possible explanation for OP's train of thought. I do not believe the argument that you are attempting to combat has actually been made, to be frank.

I have another proposition. When did I say to just give up? Did I say that "oh this person has trauma on this thing that clearly they need to confront to survive, so we'll just let the bad thing happen to them".

My whole point is OP victim blaming the people who have it to just explain to them without never even trying to understand them. This is not how you get through to people, which is is the whole point of that scenario. You dont just forcefully do things your way.

If OP is really just painting this as playing therapist to strangers and nothing else then I have concerns to how they function in normal society.

It's called "Trauma". Don't judge people if you never walk in their shoes.

Ill say this as well. I get the frustration, people just dont have the patience for it, but that doesnt mean I also dont get THEIR frustration as well.
