Why telling people to unsub is a horrible defense of the game.

Well I guess you are immune to logic or something, and Yoshi P. is spot on, if the game is too boring for you currently or you wantmore content but know it is coming later, take a break from FFXIV, there is alot of games out there you can spend some time on, or god forbid go outside and meet real people or something.

It is a good way of saying, also, where WoW and other MMOs with a subscription on want to hold onto you even if they are between expantions an patches... they would never suggest you to take a break, because it would be money out of their pocket.

FFXIV is more open those ways, and it is a way to give people options.

Some friends of mine here and there sometimes take a month off the game, and well that is not a bad thing to do?

Previous week and currently, having a break myself, just logging in to check on a few small things and then playing other games as well.

I mean... If you aren't happy, then unsub. It's what I did with WoW despite putting years, money, and loyalty (Which Blizzard doesn't care for) into it and completed a ton of things. It felt like a burden taken off my shoulders when I no longer had to worry about the FOMO and Grind that WoW still pushes even in Dragonflight.

The difference all of you fail to realise is that WoW had more substantial mid expansion patches then FF ever has. New zones, new raids, new dungeons, new quests, more gear sets, more sylvanas simp main story quests, more crafting recipes, ect. Like, actual content to do - There was always fun end game content to grind out. The PvP in WoW is, and remains fun retail or classic despite its problems - and you can grind it out for some genuinely decent rewards. Same thing with raiding. Grind it out as much as you like until you get what you want.

Of course WoW did have gigantic gaps between some of its patches, (Looking at you WoD.) But compared to the drought of content from 6.2 to 6.4? (August - May)

Islands, Forgettable content you can do in 2-3 weeks.
Raids that can be cleared to BiS in 5-6 weeks.
Eureka which is just a blatant rip off of PoTD and HoH
Criterion dungeons with 12 endings you'll just google.

Lets not even kid ourselves, wtf is with the PvP rewards in FF? Some recolor lvl 50/60/70 sets? Crystal tower gear but black? Recolor mounts? Is this the best they can do with 9 months of time?

That's a lot of reasons to take a break. You should probably consider doing that.

Sure. Why not? If you're not having fun with it then why pay for it? I've certainly taken breaks in that time range before and I still enjoy the game when I come back. Maybe eventually one of those breaks will be permanent and I will not care because it's literally just a game.

Sure. Why not? If you're not having fun with it then why pay for it? I've certainly taken breaks in that time range before and I still enjoy the game when I come back. Maybe eventually one of those breaks will be permanent and I will not care because it's literally just a game.

If you're going to have 2 years between substantial content, it shouldn't be a monthly subscription based MMORPG - Especially if they're going to take the same development team and use our sub money to go make other games on our dollar, which we have to pay for seperately.
