I don't know why when I played it should matter, as FFXI is an old-style MMO with a clunky interface on PC, and played pretty much like one. But ...

My last login appears to have been 5 years ago. My first login was about 8 years ago.

Do I enjoy Final Fantasy? Well, I'm certainly of an age to have played the first game when it released in the United States, but, quite frankly, aside from purchasing the pixel remake for FFI through FFVI when it came out, and FFX a few years before that, I haven't played a single Final Fantasy game all the way through. Pretty much the same as "I never played Warcraft or Diablo II" but still enjoyed playing through World of Warcraft and Diablo III for a number of years.

I'd hardly characterize any MMO produced before 2004 'mainline'. That's just me though. You can have all the fun you want in FFXI, just don't expect me to be enthusiastic about the game.

Edit: And I was talking about 'mainline FF'.. Not MMOs. My suggestion was for people that enjoy the FF franchise.
