let's say your friend joined the game and wanted to play the new level 80 raids with you

they have to go though all the MSQ and dungeons and expansions just to get to the raid, or they can pay for a jump potion and leveling potion which isn't cheap

in FFXI, your friends are doing Sortie ( new added battle content) and you want to jump in with them

Nation Quests --> get to Adoulin ---> get to 99-- > finish Seekers of Adoulin expansion -- unlock Sortie

it's not that hard but in FFXIV, it can take days, weeks or months, it's very unfriendly to catch up

I like how you list things to catch up, but not how long it takes. I'm sure it could also take days, weeks, or months depending on how long you have to play per day.



Also, everyone lauds the old XI, where it could take months to over a year just to hit level cap.


In the month that I played after CoP launched, I spent 2 weeks of my free month attempting to get to level 20 in the dunes. I never got there. Level 20.
