I've seen that before and was informed by people associated to them that its a meme and an in joke that they've kept going for years, they aren't serious about it.
Dictating/Limiting what one playable-Race is allowed to wear and do, even though the designers of the Game created and allows everything that is Default in this game... Gosh I have seen this behavior before somewhere. Maybe culturally, I just can't really tell from what... let me read that one more time " Dictating what one playable-Race is allowed to wear and do ".... hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
The only thing that this game needs is a ban of all catgirls and bunny girls out there. 90% of them are just so unoriginal and bland.
I'd assume that it wouldn't be difficult to do since Mare exists. I just think it's a tiny bit unfair that you can have your own super customizable glams on that only you and your friends can see, potentially put others in whatever glams you'd like, while the tiny option of disabling glams in the actual game is just unavailable?
There's already a disconnect between certain groups of players, so there's no harm in letting people have their own toggles.
But there is. It invalidates the work the dev team puts into making the gear and will lead to removing all individuality and personality from other players. Honestly, what point is there in playing an MMORPG if you turn on a toggle that puts everyone in the exact same gear regardless of job or race? Why even bother playing at that point? It would look bland, boring, unoriginal and homogenized.
The answer is in the full quote, assuming you're willing to address it.But there is. I already read it, and I deemed talk of third party devices and mods in regard to this subjject as irrelevant as 1) its against ToS to discuss them 2) we are talking about toggling the intended vanilla appearance of items in the game. You have no point to be made with discussing third party tools and mods as the development team would not likely take them into account for a request like this. That discussion is unnecessary and unrequired and using it for justifying the implementation of a so-called "harmless" toggle is nonsensical and bordering on inane.
Thus, it did not need to be addressed as the very fact you are bringing up third party tools and mods is irrelevant in the first place.
The same argument ERPers in this game use, but in reverse: "let people play the game the way they like, is not bothering you, what is the problem?"
That is a stretch and an incredibly disingenuous rebuttal as the problem here is that (E)RP does not affect others nor invalidate the actual time, resources and work put into creating gear and items for the game in the way that a glamour toggle would. Look at it from the perspective of a developer, someone who created the items, systems in use, crunched, met deadlines and busted their rear end to make sure that gear was suitable for use—would you want to give players the ability to mask that from view simply because they didn't like it? The likelihood is an emphatic, resounding no.
Everyone here is approaching this from a player-borne perspective and not recognizing how inane it would be for a development team to invalidate their own work through the implementation of such a ridiculous idea.
