ERP has been a thing in ever MMO I've played since EverQuest in 1999, a game with no mods. ESO also has several ERP guilds with no visual mods. Mods are simply a product for a scene that would be there either way.My problem is the people here arguing that the game is at fault for the erp, when its has always been the modders themselves for creating the scene. I ultimately dont care nor delve into the perverted side of FFXIV. I just dont like people being stupid in thinking that the game has been focusing on that crowd for the reason why the game has been lackluster.

I agree that I don't think the game itself has spent tons of resources devoted to that crowd. I think I just disagreed with the comment that modders created the scene itself. I think their proliferation is in response to an interest and demand for them. Maybe it's cylical though, and people interested in ERP would come here over other options given the mods available, so maybe we have a higher congregation of ERPers here than other games. (That said, there are all kinds of adult products were ERP is the only point of them, so I'm not sure why MMOs would be a top choice other than them looking innocent on a computer.)
I guess at the end of the day, the distinction isn't that important compared to the overall point.

The thing is the RP tag does not mean ERP... of course there is some people that play solely for whatever erotic reasons....My problem is the people here arguing that the game is at fault for the erp, when its has always been the modders themselves for creating the scene. However that is not a reason to actually brand the RP societies like that, that is weak and not even having shown any insight at all, however ask questions why you play an MMORPG as well, if just for the content you would be just as happy for playing any of the new AAA games or Indie games.
RP'ers is also static groups for Savage and Ultimates, no matter how you look at it they have to interact with each other to beat the content using RPG features, and not skill based features other than not standing in stupid and not underperming in damage.

Phhhht so I guess this game's entire life then. Or at least since 2.0. Cause you have to be naive if you think adult stuff wasn't happening behind closed doors back then. Now has it grown since then sure. Part of the reason why some venues add the 18+ is because they're meant to be seen as bars.
I would argue it's the other way around, at least insofar as the source of the plague goes. People were doing that stuff long before anyone figured out how to mod the game. The fact so many of the graphical mods you see floating around on the internet lean so heavily to that side is merely an uncommonly visible symptom of the underlying population of degenerates. My problem is the people here arguing that the game is at fault for the erp, when its has always been the modders themselves for creating the scene. I ultimately dont care nor delve into the perverted side of FFXIV. Oh, well, it looks like someone beat me to saying it. Didn't see this until after making the post.

I don't mind it, if anything, the venues are housing that's being used instead of sitting empty and rotting. Then you have the social aspect of them that caters to certain gamers that like that kinda stuff, why ruin their fun? Just stay away from them if that's not your forte and move on. As said many times, ERP has existed for well over two decades in MMO's, simply ignore them and move on.
Imagine advising to turn off shout chat, because RP club advertisers spam their 3 full messages macro in every town. Yeah, clearly it is me who is at fault and needs to adjust to it, by restricting my chatmode to never ever read shout messages again. :clown:
I dislike it because some stuff that gets spammed is either pretty lewd/kinky or immorale/sadistic. And this game is for 13+ year olds and that gets totally ignored. This game deserves 18+ because of its community. I would rather let a kid play doom than ff14.
Additionally, the adultstuff and mod scene taints classic/normal RP. And the game doesnt seem to cater towards normal RP either. A lot of missed out opportunities in guild development and open world.
Do I care that it exists and people like it and wanna keep doing it? No, who cares.
Just dont be so intrusive and competetive, do it more private.
But a few people who manage these events have their own goals in mind, and they will not care if SE doesnt stop them. Also wouldn't suprise me if some see this more as a business opportunity.

Bro tell me you are joking, this post cant be serious. In ERP half the time you are probably dealing with a guy behind the screen with a skimpy miqote/viera character so dont come here to tell this is healthy.I don't ERP, but that poster lost me when he said that people who do or use sexy mods are degenerates.
I just don't think that is the case - though I don't have a hostile relationship with sexuality.
In fact, I know some people personally who use these types of online interactions to heal from past experiences of sexual violence as part of their recovery - from behind the safety of their screens.
Maybe there is probably some behavior that goes on I'd be shocked by or find very strange or not for me, but I'm not willing to generalize or cast aspersions on people I don't know jsut for some interest in ERP.
I dont mind about people that practice ERP in private but please lets dont spread false information ty.
This pretty much.
